Well Charlie Kirk did point out that there is a concerted effort to blur the historical lines between things long seen as separated such as gender. Racial differences. Ppl in the ancient world didnt really divide society by skin color, they didnt see them as essentially different beings. When Darwin published his theory of evolution it affirmed to ppl trying to justify a race based system of slavery because they were clearly not as "evolved".

Anyway, back to my point, violence was once only considered an act of physical aggression. Now those lines are blurred. I'm not saying words aren't hurtful but I think it's clear that when ppl hold onto a fragile, untruth they are unwilling to face are far more easily aggravated by any overt confrontation that challenges that fragile (for lack of a better word) lie. We dont want our fantasies dashed when we've been supported in making them seem to come to life. The whole trans movement is more like some demented cos play. The woman who pioneered the research in gender dysphoria has been aghast at how twisted it's become. She sincerely wanted to help the rare ppl with gender dysphoria. The fact that other medical professionals just cherry picked and ran with a bastardized version of her research is appalling. It is medical malfeasance at best. My daughter, who struggled with aspergers, ADHD and an anxiety disorder had a horrible time fitting in with other kids. Her only true friend, a boy she met in middle school, was clearly gay. I didn't care because they were very happy together in friendship and he also had similar issues such as ADHD and paralyzing anxiety. He started cross dressing first at our house, then came out to my daughter and then his mother. He finally started a public image as female. I was concerned about how to approach this situation in a way that was truly best for him. I went on line and was horrified at how parents were reporting being bullied by health care professionals into fully supporting their children's transitioning. Their kids were basically rail-roaded by placing them on a fast track to transition. They were told all the familiar propaganda i read here. I do not understand how kids can be deceived into thinking normal teen angst is a fair sign they are simply gender dysphoric. That any passing thoughts of same sex intimacy means they are gay and that they won't miss out by sacrificing any future sexual pleasure, ability to participate in reproduction or that there are no meaningful negative side effects to taking massive amounts of hormones. In the 60's when birth control pills became available they were handed out like candy. This continued through the 70's and included hormonal menopause treatments. Then in the 80's data began to paint a different picture. It became clear that there was significant health risks associated with taking hormone treatments long term. Dosages were lowered and length of use shortened. Even consuming meat from animals treated with hormones was found to be problematic. So how is it that a mere twenty years later all that acquired knowledge was discarded? Did human physiology change? Did the adverse effects of hormone therapies simply stop? Everything changed almost overnight without any semblance of hard evidence. It became "fashionable" in even the world of science to discard real empirical science. There were what was then termed transsexuals who were treated with hormone therapies from as early as the late 60's. Those first recipients are now seniors and many of them didnt survive. Now the causes for that are mostly conjecture. If you listened to the mainstream version it's because they were rejected by society in general. There are a few honest medical practitioners who will say that long term hormonal treatments may have been a factor. I would trust government data, but after the recent revelations that their data "collection" is tempered by industrial interests i no longer have much faith in any health oversight agency. I have always found most doctors to be insufferably arrogant anyway. Most really hate being questioned and seem to expect compliance with whatever they say.

Back to my point, the lines between right and wrong are blurred by dismissing criminal behavior as just an excusable consequence of a poor childhood. While this may be true to some extent, the breakdown in social order returns to the idea that traditional values and social mores do have the benefit of mitigating children running amok, without guidance or strong role models. When the bar is set too low, kids especially are likely to underperform. We blur lines between man and nature in ways that arent helpful. When every aspect of life is grayed into indistinguishable nothingness then finding purpose and direction becomes obscure. We all want some kind of guidelines, guardrails and objectives to work by and for. Goals give us direction. Commitment strengthens character. I have never known a perfect person and dont see one in the bathroom mirror. It occurred to me a number of years ago that if I get to define God then my reflection is my god. That set me on a journey to discover something reasonable to believe. I looked into a host of religions and came to the conclusion that only one seemed viable. Anyway, sorry for the lengthy diatribe. I didnt intend to write some armchair dissertation yet most times it's hard to find any group that just has compassion and desires truth. They arent ideas mutually impossible to reconcile.

Thank you so very much for your insightful and invaluable article. I went back and reread "A False Sense of Danger." So wonderfully informative. So many of the remarks you have recorded regarding how "if we do not agree with the trans ideology, we want them dead" were thrown at me by my beloved granddaughter, before she cut off all contact with me. She has struggled with mental illness all her life and now lives with a man who in his mental illness thinks he is now a woman. As someone who has loved her since her very creation, hearing such insanity was impossible to understand. Seeing now, with the latest news coming out from Utah, that once again, this form of mental illness has resulted in the death of another human being is chilling. My prayers are with the Kirk family and with all who loved him and appreciated Charlie Kirk's ability to bring truth out into the open. This last week and the prior horrible assault in Minnesota is focusing attention where it is needed, on the hate and violence that some groups are fomenting in the mentally ill towards differences of opinion. The violence has to stop. He, Charlie Kirk, just talked to people. We must keep talking. May God, in His mercy, help us all. Love, Indio

This incredibly ridiculous notion that anyone can become a member of the opposite sex is toxic and impossible. Yes you can mutilate your body, take drugs that cause unnatural physical changes but at the end of the day, you remain what you were born as. It is demonic. Not all trans ppl are bad ppl but they are delusional and deceived. It is sad.

I want to say that there is a lot more to the "Charlie Kirk" story than we know. The whole event doesn't add up, but I do think it is doing exactly what it was designed to do...bring out more ideas, more love, more hate, and just a lot more conversations about a lot of things. I and some others I know are of the belief that Turning Point USA was not just a creation by Charlie Kirk and the other person who he supposedly founded it with. It was a plan from the very beginning...to bring us to the point we are now......a turning point so to speak. The whole transgender agenda is of the enemy of God, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. When I was dealing with this in my house we had a friend staying and she said why don't you just go along with it and then maybe he will stop it (you know how kids like to do the opposite of what the parents ask many times); but I told her that I cannot with a clear conscience go along with something that I know to be a lie from the pits of hell. My son too had several other coexisting issues. This IS coming to an end. Prodigals will be coming home, and will turn into the children/adults they were created to be. This was something unfortunately they had to go through and as my son said in some lyrics he created it's just "God making sure that existence goes perfectly to plan". I don't know what he meant by a lot of the lyrics (if you're curious it can be found by searching middle of the page minoa youtube...it's 4:08 long from about 7 months ago). He was in the "cult" for about 4 years and has now been out for about a year Praise God. In the video at the end he says in reference to God "thank you for breathing life into my soul". There is HOPE! We are not alone...and we have so many good things to look forward to. And quickly on another note I do believe a lot of these mental issues are caused by the toxins in our medical system, our food, water, air, personal products, cleaning products etc., as well as video games, movies and music.....and the internet and social media just allowed things to be spread like wildfire really. That's why I believe we saw such an increase in the trans agenda during covid. EVERYBODY was at home and spent many more hours than usual on the internet. The enemy used that to shove things in our kids faces that they would have not previously seen. It's almost over! Things will look a lot different soon!!!

Just going along with it , whatever it is, has gotten us to the point we are now. This is in regard to lots of things, not just the trans issue. Enough "going along" and more discernment and application of standards would help for sure.

I re-read your story "A False Sense of Danger" - thank you for the link, and I just read this story revisited, and you make such valid points. Thank you for sharing and explaining so much about how these vulnerable kids are feeling. Depression is very hard to deal with, I know because I have been diagnosed with depression several times in my adult life due to trauma and I even thought about suicide. I was able to talk to therapists and was prescribed anti-depressants on several occasions and took them until I did not need them any longer. My situations always changed, and the darkness eventually left, and I was able to cope again and function. Are kids more depressed today than when I was growing up? I don't think so, but there does seem to be more pressure and reasons to act out, more excuses, more things to blame, and more self-absorption. Puberty is difficult for everyone. Why is this generation having such a difficult time maneuvering through it? My generation experimented with drugs and listened to music to cope, but no one wanted to kill anyone or felt threatened. Times have changed. The trans ideology came from some dark and evil force to taunt and torture the innocent minds of our youth. Giving any child who is struggling emotionally because of puberty an idea that they were born in the wrong body is nothing less than abuse. It triggers a mental breakdown and their self-esteem is depleted. Then there are the cheerleaders coaxing them to believe the cult lies, and to take the cross-sex drugs and to have surgeries. I still cannot understand how any doctor or therapist could immediately affirm a distraught child and make a valid diagnosis that they suffer from gender dysphoria. The schools then hide these children's mental state of anguish from their parents and all the authorities "play along" with the ridiculous notion that a boy can become a girl and visa verse. Charlie Kirk was clearly not trying to destroy anyone's life, he was trying to bring life, freedom, sound thinking and clear headedness by talking logically about God, about his faith. His messages were full of love, not hate, and he spoke the truth. His voice has been silenced but his messages are and will continue to be heard loud and clear. I hope and pray that the youth in this challenging world will stop and listen and turn away from the evilness in this world. The trans cult is one of the evilest forces on this planet and it needs to be stopped, silenced and deleted. Forever. Amen.

Charlie Kirk was nothing to admire -- he was a divisive rightwing ideologue.

Simply pointing this out does not make one "celebrating" his murder; most of us who frequent this page are in the exactly opposite camp -- we want to preserve individual life and the sanctity of family.

But Kirk's words were often grim, mocking, and yes, hateful.

I may agree with him on the destructiveness of transgender ideology, but I vehemently disagree with his call for the execution of President Biden; for his twisted rationale that some children must die to preserve the 2nd Amendment; that any black person with a responsible job is just a DEI hire; etc.

You are clearly NOT the smartest American. Maybe the most arrogant, but Charlie Kirk was indeed a decent human. Imma bet you've never really listened to an entire conversation. The highly edited sound bytes that get circulated on lefty sites are disingenuous because they are counting on your arrogant sense of false self importance to not consider hearing him out fully. Its the intellectually lazy that just refuses to hear something you dont like. C K was a larger than life, informed and intelligent young man. Now that he's been effectively martyred by the toxic, psychotic diatribe from pseudo intellectuals on line, he has an ever bigger following. He wanted to lead ppl to the object of his profound faith, not himself. He had humility, grace and a stalwart character. He walked his talk. Do you?

Agreed. And for those who don't think Kirk ever said anything hateful, they should do their own research. (See: https://ca.news.yahoo.com/fact-check-charlie-kirk-actually-232000071.html, https://ca.news.yahoo.com/youre-wondering-charlie-kirk-believed-130017574.html) The man was a divisive figure who denounced feminism, made controversial comments on race and was apparently becoming a Christian nationalist. Not my cup of tea. I didn't follow him closely, but I was aware he had become a darling of the right, and was very close to Trump. I don't understand Kirk's appeal, but I guess they found him charismatic and they admired those campus debates in which he came across as a champion "debating" clueless college students. He doesn't deserve to lionized, but on the other hand, for his death to be celebrated is reprehensible. He was at least a champion of free speech, I'll grant him that. I can't imagine he would approve of the cancellations and firings occurring in the wake of his death.

Those were edited sound bytes and not representative of his full message. Yall hear what you want, take offense at everything, fell entitled to live in a world where no one gets to say things you dont want to hear, embark on defending and taking offense on behalf of others only to just ignore what doesn't support your hateful positions. I have listened carefully to his talks. Albeit not all of them, but many that were supposed to be proof of his racism. The whole conversation didnt convey what he is accused of. Fine, think poorly of him if that makes you feel better about yourself. The funny thing about human nature is that when ppl are confronted with an inconvenient truth they get vehemently angry. Usually because it hits close to home. A moment or two of honest reflection is the only way to dismantle a more damaging facade. The truth may sting, but lies can kill.

I know it applies to me. I'm particularly repulsed by ppl who NEVER really listened to him calling him crazy, unfounded names based upon having heard sound bytes taken out of context just to cast dispersions. Making excuses for his murder based upon this or any reason is appalling. I did admire Charlie Kirk. I supported his efforts to teach young people why it's wise to choose Christ, love of America and to really understand how our nation was founded and what our founders intended. Too many young ppl are being taught lies about all of the above. It does anger me. It takes an unfounded and distorted view to suggest that America and our founders are/were bad. It angers me that the youth of america is not taught actual civics but a bastardized, perverted version in order to manipulate them into accepting changes that would ultimately destroy the country I love. Anger is indeed a secondary emotion to fear. I do fear that voices, like Charlie Kirk's, are being silenced by force and that this hatred has and will be manifest all the more by ppl who are too easily incited to use it. I am fearful that the country I love is being ripped apart. I am not inviting debate, just answering your question as honestly and fully as possible. I dont care what anyone else thinks. We form thoughts and opinions based upon what we think we know. Facts should and do matter. When false information is used to manipulate people and mob rule is an accepted practice we all lose everything. Full stop.

I have listened to him lots of times, and he just stated his views, but admitted they were just his views and challenged people to prove him wrong. Views are not divisive. I am not a Christian, yet I agreed with him on some issues eg modern Feminism; it differs greatly from what I myself considered Feminism. It seems to me that all he wanted was to make students and young people think critically, something which would appear to be sorely lacking in Colleges today. He was anything but hateful or smug. I disagreed with him on some things, but I do not expect others to agree with me or care if they don't.

When I say celebrating his death I don't mean people disagreeing with him or thinking he is a terrible person. I mean people truly celebrating, like the screenshots I've shared and other people on other sites cheering and saying it should ve a holiday. No matter how hateful you may find his speech all he did was speak. People should not be murdered for their opinions, even "hateful" ones because who decides what is hate and what isn't? I link back to my article and write this one because of the narrative I've witnessed in trans youth circles that disagreement = hate, that people who disagree with you want you to die or suffer. This kind of thought process can justify murder in the head of a mentally ill child.

Expand full comment

I think these young people celebrating his death are just projecting their anger onto him, and in their online "community," it can become a contest to see who can be the most outrageous. It's attention-seeking behavior. If you took each of these kids and asked them to speak about Kirk's death in person, in front of their teachers and classmates, most would significantly tone down their comments, and would not be celebrating the man's demise.

Interesting it could be for some of these kids. I think they would actually be more comfortable sharing these things online just because they've been fed and believe the narrative that this is the community that accepts them when others people don't, their "true friends". But from my experience TrevorSpace may call itself a safe space but its users can get pretty hostile to those who don't agree. Everything you say is walking on eggshells to not trigger anybody and it could be if you post something radically left you can't really be criticized as "problematic", just because the site is very left leaning thats whats expected and liked. Higher education has largely morphed into a pipeline for global causes where identity politics are being fomented that will foster economic growth. The bodies of youth are economic goods to the agenda.

Charlie Kirk was not the danger to any student on campus. Charlie's message was a danger to the system being built. The danger is very real for families and students and for any one like Charlie Kirk whose views do not align with the mission.

To grasp the agenda, consider that the founder of Utah's largest LGBT Resource Center gave a campus lecture in 2021 for the business school. The center has 3 strategically places centers in the state (SLC, St George, and Provo (near UVU campus)).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=levi3X8pfikin

Also consider that in 2022 UVU held the first International Conference on the Sustainable Development Goals. These are part of UN agenda 2030. The agenda includes all things SOGI (sexual orientation and gender identity and social determinants of health (SDOH)). One of the sessions was titled "Blessed by Difference: A Utah Story of Faith, LGBT Homeless Youth and Bridging Divides."

https://www.uvu.edu/global/uvun/wim22/confpres4.html

These perks along with pronouns, digital forms that hide the sex of a student, an affirming mental health center, a campus map with carefully marked loos for the gender confused and more is an environment that fosters hate or at the very least the inability to be a voice of reason.

Charlie was first and foremost a devout Christian. He saw the attempts at blurring the lines of various once separated by God things like male and female. Words and physical violence, ideas like right and wrong; good and evil. He thought it a clear sign of demonic forces. He sought to glorify his Savior, not himself. He was bright, hard working and refused to cower before the MSM. He was a decent, genuine human and they hated him for putting a mirror up to them and for being a light in an ever darkening world. The rhetoric needs to be toned down. I truly despise the callous and ignorant things I hear sometimes but I never think it would be good to just murder ppl. Even if you hate someone you have no right to kill them. A person's feelings arent facts and no one else can feel them.

This is what left wing extremism does. We’ve seen this play out in every communist revolution. The end goal is destruction of their political opponents. Since they can’t persuade others on the basis of common sense or logic, they attempt to silence, censor, and ostracize their political opponents as much as possible. When that fails, violence follows. They want power and control over others, which requires silencing voices and eliminating choices.

Since Nazis are universally condemned and they argue “it’s good to punch a Nazi,” everyone they want to punch is labeled a Nazi, as well as a racist, sexist, homophobe, transphobe… It’s a very convenient moral philosophy, immune to cognitive dissonance. The same way they abhor guns and the death penalty, but cheer when one of their comrades executes a random insurance executive in the street or a man debating with people on a college campus.

We’re at a dangerous crossroads right now. There needs to be a social penalty for celebrating political violence. Zero tolerance, or we will get more of this.
