I'm truly sorry to hear about your child. Maybe I wasn't clear, though. I think this is worse than the average fad. I just meant that the gender ideology was more evil. It is an insidious brainwashing by people that should be all about children's health and safety.

I also think BLM was more than a fad. All the things you mention seem more like a religion or even a cult to me (or an ideology pushed from those making a profit). But, I might be thinking of a more narrow definition of fad. A social contagion, definitely; the incidence of people saying they are trans has risen more than a thousand percent (I think it's 5,000, but I'd have to check my source).
I guess I wouldn't describe these things as a fad. But, then again, I'm thinking of less dangerous things like fads in clothing or hair styles, or toys like hula hoop and beanie babies. All these things are popular for a very short time.
My daughter has been brainwashed by the fanatics on social media and various doctors. She was captured 8 years ago. Fads are short-lived. I guess that is subjective, but almost a decade doesn't seem short to me.
I still hold out hope. I see the tide changing, but I think it's going to take a while yet. I hope you have found a way to live a full life in spite of your estrangement. I know it leaves a hole in your heart, but we have to have a life when our children come home.
