One thing about the Loudoun parents you may be unaware of, since you linked to the very misleading Washington Post article about it - part of the reason they got so upset is that a trans-identified boy raped a girl in a girls’ bathroom, it was covered up by the school, he was transferred to another school and then allegedly did the same thing there.
