This is a heartbreaking story, and not what I was expecting—the focus on your parents particular struggles and how that all created vulnerability in you to gender ideology is a useful angle to hear. You sound like a deeply insightful, empathetic, and forgiving person whose perspective has been very hard won. Your strength of mind and heart shine through in your writing. May you continue forward into your healing with growing confidence and peace. Namaste.

"psychic inheritance" is a term I learned from the This Jungian Life podcast and it really resonates. What we have is a crisis of healthy attachment. I think we need to really examine how our culture frays what should be natural, loving bonds among family members. This is an age-old problem at this point, but we understand attachment better now. How can we better support families to heal and break the cycle of these generational wounds? The author's level of self-awareness and capacity for reflection and forgiveness is where we start.
