Friends, family, acquaintances
Lend me your ears

We are here to raise our child,
Not to judge him.

The harm he has suffered will cling to him.
The idiots’ lies will dissolve when they face 
truth.

So shall it come to pass. The noble Debra
Hath told you he needed rescuing.
If it were so, it was a grievous need,
and grievously has he answered it
Here, under leave of Debra and the rest
For Debra is a Right Thinking Savior,
So are they all, all Right Thinking Saviors.

Come I to speak of my child’s injury
He is our son, deeply loved and cared for 
since birth
But Debra said he needed rescuing,
and she is a Right Thinking Savior.
He grew up healthy and adored, with friends 
who knew, loved him as he is.
From this did our son need rescuing?
When life’s challenges came, we’ve always 
had his back–
Abused victims face sterner stuff.

And yet, Debra said he needed rescuing
And Debra is a Right Thinking Savior,

You all did see us over the years,
Ceaselessly parenting him with love,
knowledge and joy.
Was this harm or neglect?

Yet Debra said he needed rescuing
And, surely, Debra is a Right Thinking Savior.

I speak not to disprove what Debra says
But I am here to speak what I do know

We have always loved and cared for him,
without reservation and with all we have.
What cause now withholds you to see what 
has transpired?

O judgment! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason. Bear with 
    me;
Our hearts shattered when the knife violated 
    our son, our trusting son’s innocent body
And I must pause….
