Living in the Twilight Zone
Switzerland forces parents to authorize their child's "sex change" or lose custody
"Marginalized," "powerless," living in the "Twilight Zone" is how the parents described it. They have a story similar to many of this site. Their daughter, seemingly out of the blue, announced a trans identity at age 13. They sought medical advice. Doctors promised a serious assessment of their daughter’s distress. Within a few months, those same doctors recommended puberty blockers. When the parents tried to put the brakes on this life-altering, anti-science treatment plan, the schools got involved, the justice system got involved and the parents ultimately lost custody of their daughter.
The authorities failed this family at every turn. But the behavior of the doctors was especially egregious. Geneva University Hospital (HUG) asserted they follow international recommendations for the care of gender dysphoric youths. Here they are referring to WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health), which has been discredited. Not only does WPATH know that the there is little to no evidence of the efficacy of transitioning children and adolescents, they have suppressed publication of evidence to that effect.
When terminating parental rights, child protective services (SPMI) issued this justification: "The SPMI respects parental authority, unless the exercise of this authority endangers the child concerned, in which case it is up to the judge to decide the child's best interests,"
So, it’s a simple story, isn’t it? As long as not allowing a child to transition is considered endangering behavior, the authorities can claim the moral and legal high ground and terminate parental rights. All that’s needed to make this true and right is to believe that men can become women (and vice versa), that children know themselves from a young age and don’t change their minds, and that the well documented dangers of puberty blockers and cross sex hormones are outweighed by benefits of allowing a child to superficially mimic the stereotypical appearance of the opposite sex. Also, that the state knows best. It’s that simple. And that’s terrifying. More so because this family's story is not unique to Switzerland. It is happening elsewhere. See here, here, here and here.
For more on this story, see the press release published by AMQG.ch, a Swiss organization of interest to gender-questioning youth, their parents, loved ones and their network, seeking to foster a measured, diverse and non-activist approach to treating gender dysphoria.
For any who heard the bruhhaha the past few days about the political right going crazy over the confiscation of a pet squirrel, this is why in a nutshell (No pun intended): Authorities spent five hour turning some guy’s home and possessions, confiscated his pet squirrel, and then killed the squirrel. Does that sound like a good outcome for taxpayers, the citizen in question or the squirrel? Now imagine what they’ll do to your kid if they don’t deem your parenting to be adequate.
There is one and only one party fighting against the trans cult. The other party is actively encouraging the type of behavior discussed in the article. If this issue is important to you, there’s one day left (for Americans) to hold their noses regarding the candidate and to vote for the one party that has common sense on this issue.
Also an update on womens’ volleyball teams forfeiting games to SJSU who has a man on their team: Apparently most of the SJSU team itself agrees with common sense and doesn’t want this man there. The asst coach filed a complaint with the NCAA and was immediately suspended by SJSU; clearly retaliation for speaking up for biological reality.
There can be no thumb-sucking anymore. If you believe this issue is of utmost importance, then there’s only one way to vote regardless what our family or neighbors purport to think.
Beyond disturbing: "As long as not allowing a child to transition is considered endangering behavior, the authorities can claim the moral and legal high ground and terminate parental rights." It is dystopian, and it is happening too often.
