I’m so sorry your son has fallen into the cult. What does your daughter think, given her experiences? Does she have any insight into why your son was so vulnerable as an adult to this nonsense?
I have days I do better than others...i try to keep the root of bitterness pulled out...i try to have gratitude for the many great years wr had for many don't...then I just lay him at the foot of the cross crying for healing grace and mercy...letting go and letting God do what i cannot🙏💕
Every word resonates here as well. My own mother and I may not agree on everything but I would never hurt her or abandon her for anything. She's my mother. My daughter and I were exceptionally close and she was always thought of as very smart. Not just by me but by many. How she could go to these extremes not only with her identity and body, with her life, and with how she treats me, I'm broken in ways I'll never recover from. Further, no matter her reasons, it would take so much to forgive her but more importantly, I don't foresee that I could ever trust her again. Not just the way I did but I wouldn't want her to know anything that she could flip the story line on in the future either. I can't imagine meeting her anywhere, especially my home, no longer "our home". Oh the tears never stop. This breaks my heart every single day and it's been 3 NC years.
I can so relate to what you have shared. You just have to compartmentalize or the grief can be overwhelming. My child has 10 years in that ideology and four of those our child went no contact and that is still the choice our child has embraced due to the cult influence of ‘allies’. It sickens me how a social contagion is destroying families.
Very sad people can’t just love themselves as who they were born and admit in many cases that they are just gay and can be happy and accepted. Instead they choose a victim mentality and ostracize themselves from their support circle to align with people who will drop them if they desist with that lifestyle.
My heart aches for all of us parents. People don’t understand it is a forever ache and an abiding grief as our wounds are reopened daily at every social interaction, life event, etc. we are forced to learn to navigate the ongoing trauma while our children blithely roll on either not understanding or uncaring of the devastation they have caused in their wake.
Thank you for sharing. This line was especially poignant: “There is a gaping wound in me where our son had been, and it doesn’t take much to reignite the pain.” Praying for healing — physical, emotional and spiritual — for everyone in your family.
Agreed, can confirm, the pain of having a Trans child knows no end. It is so sticky and at times suffocating and crushing. To those whose children are just beginning or thinking of the Trans Road, I urge you to disconnect the phone and the internet as a minimum and go somewhere remote for a week or 2 or more, do not let your children go down this road. Do all that you can to stop it. Go help the poor, go serve the needy, volunteer to help children in needy areas with their math and english, do what you can and are able to do to fight this terrible idea.

Yes, a "forever ache" with wounds reopened every day.
