PITT, or Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans, was founded in 2021 by two women with trans-identified sons. Recently the story behind PITT was picked up by Presser. We have two intrepid leaders to thank for where PITT is today. They are Josie and Devon.
Josie became an accidental activist when her story “My Son Doesn’t Want to Be a Man” was picked up and published in the press. Josie does all of the marketing, runs the operations and posts the essays daily. Plus, she is active in the gender critical community and meets with many of the people trying to fight against this medical scandal.
Devon is the other brain behind PITT. In addition to her incredible editing ability, it was her idea to launch the Substack. And she came up with name.
Eventually, the writings of these women, and those of other parents they met in online support groups and then the wider gender-critical world, were compiled and published under the PITT Substack.
Fast forward three years…. PITT has published over 700 essays and is now publishing five days a week (with a “review” piece on Saturdays), has almost 14,000 subscribers and averages over 10,000 views a day. Head on over to Presser and learn more about it, or better yet, buy the book- Parents with Inconvenient Truths About Trans: Tales from the Home Front in the Fight to Save Our Kids.
I am for one very grateful for this substack. On days like these when I feel morose, overwhelmed with anger at the zeitgeist and frustration at the inability to help my son - I know I am not alone. Feeling utter sadness and loneliness because of estrangement - I know I am not the only mother who is. Feeling misunderstood by family and friends - I know I am not alone.
You have literally saved my sanity. Knowing that I’m not alone in this has helped me SO much. More than you will ever know. Thank you 🙏 from a mama, downunder in NZ
