I'm always puzzled when my impeccable logic about the biology of the human person falls on deaf ears when dialoging with a trans advocate---but I shouldn't be. It is like a Tower of Babel. We are coming from two different precepts which have been clashing for at least 2500 years. Trans folks, channeling Plato, invoke idealism, the idea that intangible and subjective ideas are the only reality whereas trans critics are coming from the realism of Aristotle. We become like ships passing in the night. I wonder how we might initiate a deeper dialogue. Any ideas?
