Riley Gaines Finished 5th. Now She Believes Victory Is in Her Grasp.

The NYT has been publishing some thoughtful, almost gender critical pieces on trans ideology of late and now they must do penance by publishing a hit piece on a woman who doesn’t want to compete against a man in women’s sports. Here’s their description of Riley Gaines activism: “Ms. Gaines’s approach to activism involves a weaponization of names, pronouns, physical descriptions and other language to undermine the legitimacy of transgender people’s mere existence in the world.”
I’m fairly certain that Riley Gaines has never questioned the legitimacy of transgender people’s mere existence in the world. And I’m fairly certain that this article is propaganda, not journalism. Sadder still, this failure by the NTY surprises no one.

If someone tells you that he is Napoleon are you required to agree with him? If you fail to endorse his delusions are you being Napoleonphobic? If he tells you that he needs a gun to defeat Wellington do you allow him to purchase one?
It is exactly the same situation if a man tells you that he is a woman. No one can change their biological sex. The mentally ill are entitled to freely live their lives with sympathy and care but not forced acceptance of their fantasies and never should they be allowed to possess deadly weapons. The recent Minneapolis murders of children are a result of ignoring this reality.
The hit piece on Riley Gaines was shameful. They should have included the picture of Thomas and a bunch of other swimmers diving into the pool.
