Seriously, Aaron Rodgers? Another dude going off on what it means to be a woman?

The headline of Rodgers' article says: ""THE TRANS-WOMEN MOVEMENT IS ACTUALLY ANTI-WOMAN."

How is this "going off?" Forgive me, but as a woman, I give Rodgers a thumbs-up for knowing what a woman is and recognizing that the loss of our sex-based rights is anti-woman.

Rodgers is a famous male icon. He has clout in our celebrity-conscious culture. He's not endorsing athletic shoes or beer. He gains nothing by defending the sex-based rights of women, except the respect and thanks of female athletes and all women who recognize the deep unfairness of current policy that privileges men at the expense of women.

We women protest and make our voices heard. But we don't use violence to express our outrage at being forced to share prison cells with rapists. (In fact, incarcerated women are threatened with loss of their parole date if they complain about harassment by male inmates.) Women don't dump toxic chemicals on the heads of trans activists or pelt them with raw eggs. We don't make death threats or dox people. (Ask JK Rowling and Kellie-Jay Keen what their lives are like because they speak up for the rights of women and girls.)

Rodgers recognizes, as every man should, that trans is not just a "women's issue," but it affects women in a myriad of ways. Boys and girls are victims of this cult. Families are torn apart. Trans hurts us all.

Actually, I'd love to see more "influencers" like Rodgers defend the sex-based rights of women. Thank you, Aaron Rodgers, for noticing and saying something.

I completely agree, Beeswax. Meanwhile, Simone Biles is snidely criticizing Riley Gaines for courageously stating the truth: that men (should) have no place in women's sports, restrooms, prisons, etc. I always wonder why some women are so determined to roll back the rights of their fellow women. What kind of woman does that?

Yes, I heard about this.

I have no answer to your question, but I can speculate:

a woman fearful of speaking out because she might lose her popularity and her place in history as one of the best and bravest female gymnasts in history? a woman of color who believes she must show compassion for the oppressed underdogs (men in drag) so she won’t be accused of bigotry? Or both?
