Here is a drop of positive news:

An official website of the United States government

Administration for Children & Families

“ACF Instructs California to Modify Sex-Ed Content Riddled with Gender-Ideology in 60-days”

https://acf.gov/media/press/2025/acf-instructs-california-modify-sex-ed-content-riddled-gender-ideology-60-days

Once the mind is taken what follows is "medicalization" which even sounds like a euphemism to me. Gender Ideology should not be taught in schools any more than the teachings of Heaven's Gate! Their followers castrated themselves.

The Skrmetti ruling makes the issue of transitioning children (which I strongly oppose) the same as abortion (which I support during the first trimester). Red states will now universally ban the procedure and blue states will continue to allow it. This is probably the future of the United States in most heavily contested areas of public opinion and debate. The era of the national government dictating uniformity on all matters is over. Those who demand that their views are the only ones permitted and most of us, unfortunately, fall into that category are bound to be disappointed.

The next time you vote for a Prez remember that 3/9--1/3 of the SCOTUS voted to repeal the ban. That is waaayyyy too many on the dark side.

Amy Coney Barrett wrote a good concurrence. I also read that dissent by Sotomayor and was shocked to see that a Supreme Court justice could use the terminology of sex assigned at birth. That only applies to babies with DSDs, in which it may not be obvious what sex they are. She also assumes that "a comprehensive and individualized risk-benefit analysis" takes place before hormones or puberty blockers are prescribed. We know that often doesn't occur. The reference to transgender kids being suicidal implies that it's those who are untreated, when we also know that even kids taking hormones also attempt and sometimes succeed at suicide. I recently had a TikTok show up in feed in which a child had a TBI from attempted suicide and was having to relearn everything, yet they were still calling him she and chiding staff for "misgendering" him. I wanted to ask why were they still going along with the trans identity when the poor boy had lost his whole identity from a brain injury.

While I whole heartedly agree with the Justice Thomas excerpt, it worries me that our cause is reliant, in part, upon the opinion of the most ethically, morally and intellectually challenged member of the Supreme Court.

Are you speaking of Justice Thomas or Justice Roberts? It’s only the Roberts opinion that is binding upon the lower courts. Thomas’s opinion is only persuasive (not binding) authority. So, is Roberts the one you’re saying is deficient?

I understand Robert's opinion is the official one. The article did not quote from his opinion. The article only quoted from the concurring opinion of Justice Thomas. It is towards the end of the piece.

Ok. But the cause isn’t “reliant” upon Thomas’s opinion, so I was wondering which Justice you were describing as “ethically, morally and intellectually challenged.” I’d say neither Thomas nor Roberts is intellectually challenged. Reasonable minds may differ over the two men’s ethics or morals, but it would be hard to prove (objectively) that either man is lacking intellectually. Thomas has written some amazing dissents, but they are both good writers and thinkers.

Agree. The ones who are challenged/lacking are "doesn't know what a woman is" Jackson and "wise Latina" Sotomayor

You are SO right!!! Jackson is a complete embarrassment. Until she figures out what a woman is, I will never respect a word that comes out of her mouth. And the “wise Latina” is simply annoying and predictable.

"It is a victory for logic, for reason and for science. Maybe with an assist from TERFs."

I think we are all indebted to the TERFs for taking on the establishment on this issue. I know I am.

The fact that "Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist" or "TERF" was ever coined and gained wide use just demonstrates how we entered Orwellian Crazy Town.

I have never been a radical anything.

In another time such people might have been termed "Those who think Reality Is a Thing" or "TRIT", or something.

The same goes for "Sex Assigned at Birth" which you cannot avoid/dodge if you interact with doctors/medicine. Insane.

It was such a joy to read this decision. And though Justice Roberts wrote a good opinion for the Court, it was the Thomas concurring opinion that sliced and diced the opposition to an eminently reasonable Tennessee law that protects children. The decision is also significant because the Court’s conservatives were — for a change — not fighting each other over the core issues and ideas. So-called “transgenders” are NOT getting their coveted designation as a suspect or even “quasi-suspect” class. That handwriting is plainly on the wall now, and it signals that the States’ hands will not be tied going forward. States should be able to pass the necessary legislation to protect the public (even adults, hopefully) from transgender madness and the “progressive” pro-trans agenda. So I think this is a huge loss for the Chase Strangios out there who wanted to have the Supreme Court declare “transgenders” as warranting special “protection” within the courts from the States’ legislative processes. This is a huge win.

Kate "Chase" Strangio distinguished herself in trying to claim to the Supreme Court that transgenderism is "immutable" by describing it as mutable.

I've got to hand it to her--I certainly don't have that level of reckless bravado.

The NYT article about Skrmetti makes it clear that Strangio is far crazier than we have even suspected. And it was her personal craziness that led to the insane idea of taking a ban on mutilating children to the Supreme Court, under the impression that her side would somehow magically win.

Strangio has almost single-handedly managed in six months what the rest of us have been fighting to accomplish for years.

Yes! I would of course have been relieved with a 5-4 decision, but 6-3 is as good as it could possibly get in this case. I suspect that Kagan is smart enough to know better, but the other two are hopeless.

I am far from understanding the mind a supreme court justice, but in my eyes the decision should have been 9-0, not 6-3. Those 3 that would have struck down the Tennessee ban had the court gone their way, they disgust me.

Yes! Frankly, I was surprised that Roberts was totally on-board and that he didn’t water down the Court’s ruling making silly concessions to the progressives’ pet cause. Justice Thomas found nothing in Robert’s opinion to disagree with, and that’s kind of unusual! Still, I’m glad Thomas wrote that separate opinion, because it was fire!🔥

I read about this decision yesterday and I am taking this is a Big Win for our team! It is a start and if the other 24 states follow suit, then it is an even bigger win! Justice Sotomayor is out of touch with reality and thinks she is a know-it-all. One day I hope we get to see her eat crow!

Sotomayor somehow managed to prove, against her own intentions, that sex is real and matters. It was impressive!

My dream now is that the Supreme Court WILL wind up legally defining women and men, and that they will use her legal precedent to do it.
