I hesitate to weigh in to this discussion as a Canadian. My perspective has nothing to do with politics but with a spiritual battle not against flesh and blood but spiritual powers and principalities ....the Prince of the Power of the air....the trend monster and the idea ideology of Trans. Politics be damned! I've had "the talk" and lost a 35 year friendship just this month. It's not about skillful speech or being ahead or behind and that attitude of one up man ship has to go or we will loose more than a single battle. To bunch together ideas on Covid or anything else is a wrong way to go about this. For us this is LIFE the lives of our adult children that we are hoping will be saved. I intend to be as this writer is : very selective about "the talk" . If it doesn't edify the person better to remain as friends and not die on this particular hill. Just my Canadian perspective.
