Maybe our first mistake is to assign the terms “smart” and “compassionate” to liberals. Are they smart when they’ are willfully ignoring all the studies, and science in general, in order to cling to the liberal dogma? Are they compassionate when they refuse to educate themselves about the whys as to this very sudden explosion and the consequences of the medicalization of a condition that is almost always psychological? They have a moral duty to do so if they are truly interested in advocating for young children and young adults? Just a little background on me: I have a brother who is a transsexual and I have been looking at the studies on this since the 1980s, when he transitioned. I’ve seen the damage both to him and his family first hand. So, yes, I have a dog in this fight.
