We just passed another Detrans Awareness Day. And what a difference a year makes! Just last month a WPATH official “tweeted” that detransition rates could be as high as 30% and requested feedback on that before quickly and quietly taking down the post. The month before that, the famous executive orders were released:
It’s unfortunate that this restoration to sanity and the perseverance of women’s rights had to be accomplished via fiat, but the cultural tide is turning. And the surveys prove it. The series of charts below, from Gallup and the Pew Research Center and CNN, show an interesting story and a return to sanity.
While most Americans support the civil rights of trans-identified people, most do not support trans women (aka men) in women’s sports or public bathrooms, the transitioning of children or trans ideology in the schools.
Most respondents still think a person’s sex is determined at birth. Sixty percent of respondents indicated this, up from 56% in 2021 and 54% in 2017. Although the survey was worded “assigned at birth” when it should have been “observed at birth”.
This is happening while the number of Americans identifying as L.G.B.T.Q. grows. Nearly one in 10 adults in the United States are not L.G.B.T.Q. according to a large analysis from Gallup released February 20, 2025. This is almost triple the share since Gallup began counting in 2012, and up by two-thirds since 2020. BUT…….
The majority seem to be young. Members of Gen Z were most likely to be transgender, Gallup found — 4.1% were, compared with 1.7% of millennials and less than 1% in each older generation.
In a delusional interlude, Dr. Mitchell R. Lunn, who co-directs a research project on the health of L.G.B.T.Q. people, states that increasing L.G.B.T.Q. identification has been “largely driven by the many decades of gradual increasing societal acceptance”, dismissing any evidence of social contagion.
CNN reported this on March 7, 2025. As the newscaster exclaimed: “My goodness gracious. 79%! You rarely get 79% of the country to agree on anything but they do in fact agree on the idea of opposing trans-gender female athletes in women’s sports. Such a clear trend among the American public.”
So, maybe the tide is turning. Maybe between government interventions, more stories of women being robbed in sports, more tales of detransitioners, more lawsuits, and the publication of more scientific studies, will bring an end to this medical scandal. Now, if we PITT parents can get our children back, that is another story.
I pray that every family and person damaged by this magical thinking comes around to rebuilding the damaged relationships. This has been a long period of bullying towards anyone who didn’t fully agree with “born in the wrong body” dialogue. Thank you for publishing data that gives hope to the bullied.
It still amazes me when some people think this way: "increasing L.G.B.T.Q. identification has been “largely driven by the many decades of gradual increasing societal acceptance”, dismissing any evidence of social contagion."
Those who have lost kids to "T and Q" see the social contagion clearly. I think the tide is turning allowing others to see it too.
