Themis
A non-profit connecting detransitioned plaintiffs with attorneys who can help them sue for their "gender affirming care"and help them fund lawsuits for their injuries.
Like many parents here, I was unable to prevent two of my young adult children from medicalizing with hormones and surgeries so they could pursue their “dreams of a new identity”. All I could do was watch from the sidelines as they were groomed, persuaded, captured, and finally, surgically modified. As the unimaginable unfolded, our family fell victim to today’s hottest culture war battle, the one that destroys families, dreams and lives along with its unwitting victims’ health and fertility. I haven’t seen or heard from my children in over six years. There are no words to describe the heartache and desolation. Only other parents can truly understand.
Over the years, I have experienced a range of emotions around this, but the one constant is RAGE—a seemingly unfettered rage that burns hotter than hope. This rage is born of the helplessness we seem to have in abundance as parents living this nightmare. No one will listen to us, believe us, or take our concerns seriously. The doctors keep prescribing, the surgeons keep slicing, friends and family criticize us, the media demonize us, and all the while we watch in horror as the casualties mount.
In the past four to five years, however, we have witnessed the emergence of detransitioners, those brave souls who are speaking out against the travesty of so-called “gender affirming care”, and coming to grips with making life-altering decisions that left their bodies permanently altered and in unspeakable pain. And as they have hardened themselves to that truth, they have tightly steeled themselves to pursue all available avenues to seek legal recourse against those who took advantage of their vulnerabilities to make them patients for life. And we who have lost our children to the ideology and/or are estranged from them are watching from afar.
For once, we have some hope that these wrongs will be righted legally and maybe, just maybe, the legal machines will shut the medical mills down. But the litigation path is long and expensive. And the detransitioners’ stories and their courage inspired me to establish a tax-exempt, non-profit organization we call the Themis Resource Fund (or TERF for short). At themisresourcefund.org, we connect detransitoner plaintiffs in the United States with attorneys who want to take their cases, and we help them fund litigation to seek compensation for injuries caused by affirmative gender treatment. By being helpful, I may be able to lessen the pain and helplessness I have felt over the years.
I’m also actually feeling a glimmer of hope, seeing the recent media coverage of Johanna Olson-Kennedy being sued for fraudulently harming a young girl beginning at the age of 12. Clementine Breen was put on puberty blockers at 12 years old, followed by testosterone injections at just 13, and had her breasts removed at just 14 years old. She is now 20 and regrets these interventions. You can read about her lawsuit here.
At the age of 12. Let that sink in. Like many of us, I fervently hope that Olson-Kennedy and others like her end up behind bars with their medical licenses revoked. I hope they go down in history as the ghouls they truly are.
Are you, like me, dreaming of the day when this outrageous medical abuse stands starkly exposed in a court of law? At Themis Resource Fund, so are we. Are you, like me, impatient for it all to go down in history as the worst medical scandal in human history— an unregulated live experiment doomed to go the way of the lobotomy? At Themis Resource Fund, so are we.
I dream of the day when my children come home to reality and join the courage coalition of detransitioners. This will happen, because at the end of the day the truth wins. But what awaits my children, and yours, when they finally come home? Will anyone take responsibility for what has happened to them? Not likely. This is why Themis Resource Fund exists. When our children come home, Themis Resource Fund will be there for them.
We can work together to make this a reality.
Attorneys across the country are working hard to get these cases to court despite many difficult roadblocks such as statutes of limitations/statutes of repose which vary from state to state. It’s a David and Goliath battle in the true sense of the biblical reference, with a handful of attorneys committed to the battle and facing large corporate law firms with bottomless cash, funded by insurance companies and health care conglomerates. These attorneys could really use our help.
IN 2024, Themis Resource Fund granted over $40,000 to help fund lawsuits. That money goes for expert witnesses, medical records review, and other expenses. Our goal is to relieve the attorneys from the work of raising funds so that they can be free to do the lawyering. This is great but it’s just a humble beginning.
We are currently looking for more attorneys that want to work on these cases. We are looking for more experts. And we are heartened by those in the medical and mental health professions who have stepped up to help where and when they can. But anyone who wants to can help!
Themis Resource Fund is a registered US 501c3 charity. All contributions are fully tax deductible in the US. We operate with extremely low overhead and a small group of dedicated volunteers.
Would you like to join us as we go after the gender affirmation model through legal means? Please consider becoming a monthly supporter of Themis and help us dismantle the gender industry and hold the doctors, therapists, and even the organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Endocrine Society, both of which countenance the atrocities being committed against our children, accountable for the unforgivable damage they continue to do to our precious kids. If we all join together, we CAN and will prevail. The time is now. The irreversible damage being done to their bodies needs to stop. We would love to have you join us.
For more information on how you can get involved please visit our website at themisresourcefund.org. We look forward to joining with our PITT parents in 2025. Let’s make this year the watershed we have all been waiting for.
Yes, parents on this forum know that, “No one will listen to us, believe us, or take our concerns seriously. The doctors keep prescribing, the surgeons keep slicing, friends and family criticize us, the media demonize us, and all the while we watch in horror as the casualties mount.”
Thank you for all your work and for funneling your passion into a way to help with the Themis Resource Fund.
Everyone can find a focus and zero in on something to make a difference.
I am directing my efforts at the restoration of truthful documentation of birth certificates. I aim to restore altered/falsified birth records and prevent the alteration and falsification of birth certificates in the future. As you say, “at the end of the day the truth wins.” Birth certificates need to be truthful documents.
So thank you again for all the work you do!
Great initiative. Thanks for creating this.
I’m hoping this will continue to grow and eventually encompass legal action to force insurers, doctors, etc. to provide proper medical care for those detransitioners moving forward. It’s one thing to sue for past actions which have caused harm, but an entirely different thing to make sure the harm done is repaired or mitigated to whatever extent is still possible.
And man what I wouldn’t give to see a class action suit against Planned Parenthood for handing out prescriptions for cross sex hormones like they are candy on Halloween.
