I come to PITT to fend off the isolation and loneliness I feel as the mother of a trans-identified daughter. I come for the hope it gives me – hope that someday she will detransition or hope that my family and I can lead a good life even if she doesn’t. I appreciate the diversity of backgrounds represented here – of countries, of political affiliation, of religious belief or lack thereof. We have one thing in common – the belief that gender ideology is a modern medical scandal.
I do not want to introduce divisive politics here. There were pros and cons for both candidates. But I’m shocked when women tell me that the Democratic party is the party of women’s rights. For them, it’s all about abortion. I get that. But they don’t get that the Democrats are not all in on women’s rights.
I live in a very liberal area and have several female friend groups. When they express outrage at the overturning of Roe I ask if they have any concerns about some Democrats inability to define what a woman is. When they ask why that would matter, I ask how someone can defend the rights of a group they can’t define. I ask how, if a man can declare himself to be a woman and consequentially have access to women’s sports, spaces and awards, can women have any rights at all? They promptly change the subject.
I didn’t vote for President. I couldn’t support either candidate. But on this ONE issue, this issue that unites the readers of PITT, we may see some progress. Here is a clip from 2023 on Trump’s plan to ban gender affirming care for minors:
Does a return to sanity on this one issue come at too high a price? It’s not for me to say. But to all of the neighbors, teachers, doctors, mental health professionals and school administrators who cheered on my daughter’s mental illness, this is what you have wrought. I can’t feel sorry for you now.
I'm a registered Independent who thinks Trump is a carnival barker and buffoon but voted for him anyway without hesitation...for the 3rd time...for the same simple reason as the first two times: the Dem-Media Party alternative was a lot worse -- a collection of vicious hectoring elitists driven by a deeply warped ideology of which the Gender Cult is merely one symptom...albeit the sickest.
I don't kid myself that Kamala, the Regime puppet, lost on that issue alone. There were a lot of other things on the minds of voters. But it did resonate and have an impact, particularly in the late stages of the campaign when amplified by that devastating "she's-for-they/them, he's-for-you" ad.
I'm very proud of the role my son, Matt Walsh, played and has played for years now in highlighting the madness of the forces promoting the sexual mutilation and hormonal drugging of kids. Matt delivered a powerful endorsement of Trump and takedown of Kamala on his show the day before the election.
Still, let nobody fool themselves. The war goes on. You can't kill evil or stop the fanatics who promote it with a single election no more than you can solve all the deep-rooted ills of a troubled nation in that fashion. But you have to start somewhere. I hope and pray that last Tuesday was a start. We'll see.
When I saw the video on President Trump's ideas towards transgenderism, I was so excited! I cheerfully and happily voted for Donald Trump! And I advocated for other people to vote for him and I contributed financially too. I know that grown adults can do what they want with their bodies, but doctors and hospitals should NOT be subsidized by our tax dollars to mutilate our precious adult children who are captured by this demonic ideology.
