Based on this post I purchased “Lost in Trans Nation.” It’s a page turner for sure. I’m halfway through it after just a few hours. And yes, I left a 5 star review on Amazon.

Establish yourself now as a credible reviewer so you can review upcoming books not yet published. Throw in other books off topic so you are not viewed as biased. It really helps authors to write reviews.

Very helpful and timely info, thanks. Just received my PITT book and love it!! I will be sending it to others and writing a review! Stella’s Forward is excellent, and the Preface and Introduction are inspiring and motivating!

Your tips are for writing POSITIVE reviews for adult NF books. Do you have any tips for writing NEGATIVE reviews for children's fiction? THE PERPETUAL CATERPILLAR by Lisa Mendelson, Shehani Koshila (Illustrator) is a kid's book (26 pp., for 3-8 year olds) saying in a metaphorical fashion that it's fine to take growth blockers.

Here's the blurb:

"Who says caterpillars have to turn into butterflies? Shouldn't it be their choice? Issa sees her true beauty as a caterpillar and she plans to stay that way. It is a story of friendship, acceptance, choice, and purpose. When it comes to living your best life, its best to do what makes your own heart happy."

Again, keep it short and specific. It usually helps to find something positive, especially if it’s illustrated. That’s usually done well regardless of the message or moral.

Just to get this on your radar, The Detransition Diaries, in book format, is forthcoming January 2024. The book is a much more in depth deep dive into medical ethics, major shifts in medical ethics that allowed physicians to do harm, as well as the history of the gender ideology movement and hope for a way forward!

Buying all of these. Several copies so I can leave some in local lending libraries.

that's an interesting idea. I've pondered whether I could buy multiple copies of some books to give to teachers at the high school, but it feels too much like handing out religious literature. Perhaps if I can have a gentle conversation I could just recommend them. I like the idea of leaving them in the "little free libraries" around the neighborhood too.
