Seems like a clear cut case of autism. Giving hormones to children is a crime against humanity. Just as we now view as monstrous the 1950s and 60s widespread practice of frontal lobotomies for “troubled” children — especially girls — we will in due course come to recognize today’s equally barbaric “gender affirming care” as wicked and cruel. No doubt there was a handful of extreme cases where a lobotomy actually helped. Ditto today hormones and surgery. Now as then, the overwhelming majority of cases were treated unnecessarily — thousands of lives destroyed and bodies maimed. And nobody goes to prison.

My brother is a nerd and he is also a trans woman. For my brother, I believe the first reason he went in this direction was because of insecurities. Being trans give him a badge, makes him immediately cool in some crowds, protected him from being held accountable, and was easily used as a crutch. He was confused and unsure how to live in a world that expected him to be masculine, to step up and get a job and be a man... He feared that, the pressure and societal standards. Being a nerd and finding other nerds to fit in with who also felt confused about who they were, they get community right away and they got power. The nerds are definitely trans now, anime, autism, fear, power, fetish, there are a lot of things that got us here for sure. The scary reality is that as a trans woman my brother is struggling, as a young person before transition he was finally starting to face his fears and find his place… I was extremely supportive in the beginning, I'm a liberal Ive always been pro live your life however you want..after seeing my brothers process and my friends and my cousins… now I feel very different. The contagion has been strong.

Research about de-transitioning. When people transition have a negative experience & re-transition back. It may help the loop.

HERD MENTALITY AND SOCIAL CONTAGION

HERD MENTALITY and SOCIAL CONTAGION

🔥First Off: Condolences to the Parents for the loss of their Son.

This story is really though provoking.

If the Son show no signs of homosexuality, then I can't help but wonder why he wants to abdicate manhood❓️

What are his feelings about women❓️

Is/was He heavily into porn❓️

Since he was a science HERD was he also a social Nerd...Did he go on dates with girls❓️

This is a tragedy indeed, but this really reminds me of "The Body Snatchers". Sounds like He just flipped and the family didn't see it coming.

The 80s and 90s had a very true saying:

Cocaine is a helluva drug

The 21st Century has a true saying:

Transgenderism is a helluva drug

Definite nerd here who once identified as nonbinary. I don't know if the author is reading comments, but if so, I want to thank her for this excellent piece and recommend Az Hakeem's book Detrans, and Stella and Sasha on the Gender: A Wider Lens podcast. I hope your son will consider the stories of detransitioners, because he could do a lot of damage to himself before losing interest/realizing that he was sold a bunch of lies.

I realize this was about trans identifying kids but what I loved was her description of a kid who was clearly on the spectrum; she didn’t pathologize him. She just allowed him to be a quirky kid.

There is a collective derangement in society over the percent of people who consider themselves trans. The author has a mild version of this derangement. “Nerds” greatly outnumber trans. We are talking about 0.5% of adults and 1.4% of youth. Meanwhile this source says that Americans think 20% of the population is transgender!!

I would imagine as with all of your son’s interests, there was a point at which he was introduced to them. Thomas the Tank Engine, rollercoasters, Minecraft, all had to enter his field of vision before they turned into an obsession. Where/when was he introduced to transgenderism? How did he come to see it as something that applied to him?

This is well documented - autistic boys think in rigid binary terms. So if they are gender non-conforming as a boy, they can easily be led by others into thinking that makes them a woman. Older autistic men fail at dating and so become the lust object they failed to obtain, which is why so many mtf trans look and act like bimbos and parodies of femininity. That's also why lots of nerdy boys who went in the military go tranny - the trauma and toxic masculinity of the military made them feel like they failed as men and so they transition to be free of the pressure and feeling of failure.

Then on top of that autogynephiles get off on being made into a woman (google Blanchard AGP for a detailed exploration of that.)

There's a whole subreddit and online culture where AGPs try to get autistic boys to transition or take illegal bathtub mail order estrogen without their parents knowing, bc it's their fetish, r/egg_irl

Fight this to the death. Never accept it. This is social engineering. Nothing to do with your sons habits. If kids are exposed daily to App bullshit, they are completely fucked, and so are you and your husband. Society is sickened, best step away from it.
