I've observed that non-religious people love to call gender identity a religion. For those of us who do have faith, the comparison is wrong-headed, misguided and ignorant. Religion involves belief in and assent to a power stronger than our own. Gender ideology rises the Self over all, and thus is the farthest thing from religion.

Dear non-religious gender criticals: We are your allies in this, but you lose us with ignorance like this. You clearly don't know what religion is and you don't understand it. The wise thing to do would be to stop talking about it

This is where the battle must be fought. I expressed these same sentiments to my daughters school - calling "Gender Identity" a faith-based concept, and they invited me to find another school and forbid me from contacting faculty.

It must be said as well that use of alternate, or wrong-sex, pronouns is an endorsement of this religion and a declaration of faith.
