Dr. Garofalo should be investigated and barred from practicing medicine. Maybe we need a running list of such people on PITT. Interestingly "lobotomy" is in the title of the article.

Have to say, the PITT articles are the ones I find the most moving, ie heart-breaking... I'm an elderly woman who is child-free and I've been asked why I care so much about this (“trans”) issue. I can only respond with “why would you NOT care?!” The whole thing seems totally grotesque and wrong. I honestly need a stiff drink before I can go on 'X' and follow what's going on... but feel I have to do my very small part in pushing back against the insanity.
The book has many great parallels. Thanks for laying those out. Funny Freeman was booed off an SF stage in the 60s. By the 60s SF LGB and yes, also TQ+, culture had roared to life. They have spent many decades building what we witness today. AIDS was huge to garner support and many were injured and continue to be killed and injured by toxic AIDS or HIV pharmaceuticals. Industry and LGBT NGOs are unsuspecting allies have been partners for a long time. They are powerful. I celebrate the wins but the hill is in front.
Blue states are tripling down. NJ has a state website called TransHub. Many red states there remain exemptions for children to continue though many have set have time limits. . Also the number one trans surgery is 'top surgery.' Many states have exemptions for this including CA (age 15), NC (if treatment was began before a date) , CO (no restrictions), and SD (not sure if limited by date or case by case). while some states have increased transition ages to 19, there in now an army of 'trans' people created by industry and stuck in the system.
I hate the thought of detransitioners becoming a cashcow for industry to 'fix' their surgically modified bodies. There is no return but living in the body marked by an evil industry, or adding silicone breasts, removing silicone breasts, de-castrating with a silicone phallus or removing it, etc.

The care industry used to at least think you needed to have a pathology to fix with drugs and the knife but now doctors harm people out of some sort of perverse identity rights matter inflicted on indoctrinated people - maybe so long as they do not have an apparent pathology. Now, the care industry sometimes (not always) filters out the pathological but if your kid doesn't have some very obvious major psych problem she is considered a great candidate for transing, ie, it must be a case of "true inner gender fairy mismatch with body" not something else. So, go ahead and give her high doses of testosterone for life and amputate her breasts!
