To watch a child destroy his body, his mind, his life and essentially murder his parents in doing so is beyond my ability to forgive. Third, punish, yes! Every single medical professional involved in promoting the transgender delusion should lose all professional credentials permanently for a simple reason: They violated their duty to use reason and to think. They cannot be trusted. In addition, all medical professionals and other supporting adults (teachers, counselors, "helpful relatives" should be punished. Ideally I'd like to see them castrated and hung. Fair is fair.

Have to say, the PITT articles are the ones I find the most moving, ie heart-breaking... I'm an elderly woman who is child-free and I've been asked why I care so much about this (“trans”) issue. I can only respond with “why would you NOT care?!” The whole thing seems totally grotesque and wrong. Also the number one trans surgery is 'top surgery.' Many states have exemptions for this including CA (age 15), NC (if treatment was began before a date) , CO (no restrictions), and SD (not sure if limited by date or case by case). while some states have increased transition ages to 19, there in now an army of 'trans' people created by industry and stuck in the system.
I hate the thought of detransitioners becoming a cashcow for industry to 'fix' their surgically modified bodies. There is no return but living in the body marked by an evil industry, or adding silicone breasts, removing silicone breasts, de-castrating with a silicone phallus or removing it, etc.

I saw a clip of a recent conversation between Bill Maher and Sam Harris. Both of course are forever Democrats, but at least they were both pretty honest about what's happening. Maher made some interesting points, and Harris did as well. I just disagree with Harris's contention that the issue is "complicated", with trans rights 'intersecting" with the rights of women, when they clearly (and intentionally) undermine them. Maher is just more willing than Harris to call the Left out on its insanity. Both were pretty clear that they believe it is a political mistake for the party to "die on this hill". I believe my former life as a good lefty and Democrat has allowed me to understand how effective the "messaging" is, and how this specific ideological tenet may not be questioned. I do respect the Democrats who are trying to turn the ship around, but I for one will never forgive nor forget.

At the same time, as you note, her govt.- funded research role must be held to account.
