I'm choosing to read this essay in a positive, hopeful light. Yes, despite the pain & sadness expressed. HOPE. And a POSITIVE mental outlook....

Everything you described is how a person’s mind and personality is changed due to undue influence or a cult.

marcelo brittes's avatar

Yes, 100%. I always wonder if one day we’ll be able to trace where this ideology is really coming from. Because when you listen closely, so many people repeat the same responses, the same narratives, and even show the same behavior patterns, almost like they’re all drawing from one common source. That’s the part that concerns me most: not just what they believe, but how coordinated and programmed it often sounds.

Once the scalpels come out . . . actual body parts get snatched.

I agree, there is a true reality that is being suppressed, buried, hidden and ignored.

This plague is one more way people resist our real Creator and His Truth.

He is the Way.

yes, so important to continue to nurture our faith....

thank you for this piece. May you keep strengthening your FAITH.

marcelo brittes's avatar

thank you! I honestly don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for my faith. Jesus is my strength.

I never watched the movie but sadly can completely relate to the comparison. I most especially can relate to your feeling that your son is still there- because he is. I can also relate to how your faith is what is getting you through. I believe that God doesn’t make “mistakes” and that He sees us parents in our pain wishing for the son He created to come back. I’m trying to “let go and let God” and “Trust in Him”

to bring my son back happy and healthy from this madness because God loves him even more than I do. Praying for God to stay close to our children and help them while we love them through this.

I constantly reference the 70s version of the film “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” to capture the terror and alienation I feel as one of the people who refuses to go to sleep and surrender to being “changed.”

It is exhausting to stay awake, and resist being taken over by a force so ubiquitous, so overwhelming, that it seems to have destroyed every relationship, all sense of societal trust— silently, overnight.

The image I keep posting as a meme is the Donald Sutherland “point and shriek”— those who have become part of the “new” (progressive) army of the unified thought group make sure that those who are resisting are destroyed. You can try to hide, but they find you, and when they do, their eyes become wide, they raise their stiff arm to point you out, and they emit an ear-splitting, sustained shriek to call in the others who will help eliminate the threat these free thinkers pose.

We all fell asleep that night the “trans rights activists” planted their seeds to change the earth. Most were unaware. Some were glad. And a handful have resisted.

The body horror of that film also applies. The body you are, the body you know (and you are meant in that film to see the horror of having what was “you” be replaced by a simulacrum) is destroyed. To be watching this society-wide, alien force take hold of children and adolescents to destroy their healthy bodies has been unbearable to me.

Why do I care so much about this “tiny number of people”? Why wouldn’t I? It’s not a tiny thing, it’s the whole society being changed. And when I say I’m concerned, people with wide-open buggy eyes stiff-arm point at me and shriek their ear-splitting shriek to alert the others that I am a threat.

I am living in a horror movie.

30-something millennial who grew up reading Animorphs, here. Sadly, the author is a TRA, and is a “supportive” mother of a son who’s decided to pretend like he’s a woman. Which is actually extremely ironic, because the plot of those books is my own version of the Body Snatcher metaphor, more or less!! Basically how it goes: there is this alien species of parasitic slugs, called the Yeerks, that have arrived via spaceships, to infest and take over this planet. They have chosen humans as their hosts. Which, in their parasitic slug form, they are still highly intelligent, but can do basically nothing. So in order to thrive, and create advanced Yeerk civilizations, they need to infest host species!! And of course, if the host species catch on to what is really going on, and that they are being infested by an alien slug species, they usually won’t take kindly to that, and may try to fight back against them. So what the Yeerks try to do is to slip under the radar, and keep the increasing infestation secret from most people, until it can no longer be contained, and they have won by numbers!! (Same thing with increasing numbers of young people getting brainwashed into gender ideology, on the sly. And also spreading the contagion to others, further breaking down reality and sanity, and injecting more sickness into the overall culture, even if they themselves do not “transition”.)

But yeah, as for how Yeerk infection works: some people are taken against their will, while others, (a small minority), are convinced to serve as voluntary hosts. And when someone is made a host, a Yeerk will enter their brain, through their ear channel. Then it will worm itself around their brain, taking it over and gaining control of it, completely. Plus they will immediately know what their victim is like, and what their original personality was, pre Yeerk infection! Which they will do their very best to EMULATE, so that no one around them suspects a thing!! Plus the host / victim won’t be able to tell anyone that they’ve been Yeerked, of course. They are now trapped, as a hostage, silently screaming on the inside, with no one being able to hear them!! While the Yeerk controls everything, puts on a very convincing show, and pretends like they ARE them!! (Reminds me of how the new “trans” identity gains all control over the original person, with the original personality likely still existing, suppressed, somewhere in there! Often even expressing a few doubts, every now and then! That then get SQUELCHED by the new cult persona, that is now in the driver’s seat. And.. eventually, the original personality may just stop fighting back. Just like the original person, once their brain has been taken over by a Yeerk. And just like what happens in other cults, too.) Oh.. except every now and then? The original personality may just be able to fight back against the Yeerk, for only a few split seconds, if it tries REALLY hard! To the point that it’s maybe able to make a strange face, or say “NO!!”, or “RUN!!”, to a potential new victim, that the Yeerk is trying to recruit THROUGH them! (Reminds me of the original personality fighting back, at times, before it gets neutralized and explained away as “imposter syndrome”, or “internalized transphobia”.) Plus also, one really interesting part of the story is, there is this supposedly harmless youth organization known as “The Sharing”, which presents itself as just a fun place to hang out and make new friends! When in all actuality, what it REALLY is..? Is a place where new young people are gradually and insidiously inducted into getting Yeerk infected! The organization is 100% run by Yeerks, and EVERY single one of the so-called “full members” are Yeerk controlled hosts!! (Reminds me of “GSAs” at schools, that clueless misfit kids who just want friends are convinced to join, etc.) And all the Yeerk hosts..? Will basically relentlessly PROSELYTIZE for The Sharing, and talk about how AMAZING it is, and how it has completely changed their lives, with this creepy, glassy, glazed-over look in their eyes!! Trying to convince as many of their friends to join as possible!! Which, the parallels are obvious with that, too.

LOL, I love rambling about stuff I find interesting, and seeing parallels in stories, so I just felt like sharing this, in case anyone is interested!! The books are VERY culturally dated, with all their 90s references, but it’s still a pretty damn good story! And I think they’re very complex and interesting, for being children’s books! So perhaps reading them out loud to one’s kids, for gender cult inoculation purposes, COULD still be a good idea!! Not ONLY for that purpose, obviously, as the story itself is just fascinating, (at least to me, anyway), and well worth it on its own terms!! But I absolutely do think it could ALSO be used for inoculation purposes… Both against this cult, and against other cults. 😉 (Slight issue, though: another part of the story is, there is an alien skill known as “morphing”, which makes people who have acquired said skill able to temporarily change their bodies into the bodies of other animals, once they have acquired their DNA! Which, some idiot could of course argue that: “see, that is exactly what TWANZ PEOPLE are doing, hence it is totes legit!!” But that can easily be refuted by simply explaining that this is a FICTIONAL story, no such technology exists here on Earth, and drugging and mutilating bodies here, in a failed attempt to make them RESEMBLE the other sex, won’t actually change their sex. It only does extreme amounts of harm to them.)

I don’t understand why you say that the author is a trans rights activist.

Bill Bradford's avatar

I don't understand why you ask such a pedantic question.

Cece's avatar

Well, I don’t know how MASSIVELY activist-y she is about it, but she definitely does support this whole agenda!! I don’t think it matters in terms of her books, (that were also written BEFORE she drunk all the gendie Kool-Aid, to my knowledge), because I still love them, and still think they can serve as a really effective dark parallel to this stuff, that can potentially be used to inoculate kids AGAINST it! But I still felt like it would be dishonest not to mention it, when I do in fact know about her pro gender ideology stance, and the fact that she is quite vocal about it, y’know..? People have to make their own decisions on what to do with that. Personally, I am willing to consume art created by TRAs, if I genuinely enjoy it, (like I also do with, for instance, Chappell Roan’s music), but I still do NOT want to financially support them! Plus I do NOT want to uncritically recommend their art to other people, without also letting them know what they stand for! So that they, too, can for instance decide NOT to financially support them!! That’s just me, though. Anyway, the Animorphs books can easily be pirated online, or bought used, which is what I would do, if I was getting into them now.

My son is going to be 30. I am the only person in his life who does NOT use his new name or pronouns.

He basically doesn't talk to me. No Happy Father's Day from him this past Sunday.

Bill Bradford's avatar

This really is a serious comment. Why don't you invent some NEW pronouns for him? Tell him that you love him so much, that you are giving him his very own set of pronouns to prove how special he is to you, and how much you still love him? No, I'm not being sarcastic. Take him seriously. Go along with the cult madness, but do it from a position of choice on your part. I'm only thinking out loud here, trying to come up with a workable solution. But HAPPY FATHERS DAY, Dad!....(My father is gone, but during my teens & 20's, we basically "hated" each other. When I finally got clean & sober off the drugs & alcohol I'd gotten myself on, he & I did become friends again. There IS HOPE, KT....
