The funniest thing my daughter told me was when I told her that being "male presenting" just made it feminine by virtue of a woman doing it, she countered that any female traits were made masculine by her doing them by virtue of her being a trans man. (She is what the queer call a fem-boy transman, which seems to be a female women with extra steps and more facial hair)

That is trans logic for you.

"Trans" just means "not." So when you hear "trans woman," think "not woman." Trans man = not man. Trans medicine = not medicine. Trans logic is obviously not logic!

The testosterone thing (the dad not washing his hands) was an episode of House.

Here’s a funny one my daughter said about her partner “he’s going to freeze his eggs incase he wants a baby later.”

Oooh, this is good! I may need to return later in the day when I think of more good ones..

The idea that "sometimes women have penises" or "sometimes men have vaginas"

The instructions inside a box of menstrual discs I bought refers to people who might perhaps NEED said discs as "people who menstruate" (yeah, we used to have a word for "those types of people"....)

A family member once told me that if you don't happen to want to date someone who is trans because of their personality, that's fine. But if you decide not to date them "simply because they are trans," you are exhibiting transphobia.

I'll be back.... the day is young....

In a discussion about affirmation therapie:

-there is a study, which demonstrates that affirmation therapie doesnt work.

- it shoudnt work, it shoud help.

Wenn father becomes mother. Transman has given birth to his baby.

Also, I know I've already commented, but anything about my daughter’s identity could be a crazy quote. I don't have the best memory, but something like "I can be a robot man if I want to. I'm transitioning to robot."

I got into an online argument with someone who stated that hormones and surgeries "turn a male into a biological woman". His liberal sensibilities just wouldn't allow him to admit otherwise, even when confronted with how unscientific that was.

"No children are getting gender affirming care in this country/No children are getting hormones/No children are getting surgeries/Maybe she got a mastectomy at 13 because she had breast cancer?"

"Puberty blockers are fully reversable."

"We'll be your glitter family."

I'm astounded at how people are blind to basic logic in order to protect their self-image as trans allies.

The first one isn't phrased well, but unless I'm missing something it's normally true. Men's bodies can turn excess testosterone into estrogen in a process called aromatization. If, for example, a male bodybuilder was injecting extra testosterone, he would probably develop side effects relating to having too much estrogen in his body.

Don't know how a transgender person was trying to spin this, unless they were trying to encourage trans-identifying boys to inject testosterone as a roundabout way to increase estrogen?

That process does occur but if it relies on an excess of testosterone, it is not necessarily a common occurrence. The poster was also making an illogical leap to "biker dudes" and breast cancer. Some dots should not be connected.
