I don’t think it can be legislated away. My observation was about the euphemisms we use to hide what we are actually doing; and the patina of virtue we cover it in, kindness as if it were a virtue. It is understood that only power is left in the wake of all this convenience; but how can we say that puberty blockers and top surgery for children are “problematic” if the killing of the unborn is just a function of the unlimited virtue of kindness? After all, gender affirming care is just more kindness, rightly understood.

I’m not trying to be vicious - how can I be (?) when the notion of vice is drained of all meaning and you, and the writer of the letter, aver that the only sin is unkindness, as we each define that for ourselves.

Kind of you to absolve men of responsibility for all this, by the way. I hope that you can bear the responsibility alone. These are the practical wages of power. I’m sure there are men who will support you fully in doing what you gotta do. Men can be ”kind”, too.

Good thing that we got rid of all the old rules, eh? Otherwise all the hard things you say, and all the hard things I say, might be construed as evil.

Oh, look! It’s April Fools day! May the blessings of whatever higher power designed this system be with you! Higher power bless!

An abortion performed in the first trimester should be legal, and WAS legal until Trump packed the Supreme Court. Many women benefited from these services provided by Planned Parenthood and other women's clinics. I don't like abortion any more than the next person, but every women should have the right to choose.
