I agree the power of television/ movies/ internet/ social media/ smartphones to implant beliefs, superstitions and identities cannot be underestimated!

Here's two more examples which will no doubt make everyone feel uncomfortable. But please bear with me, if only to experience what having your own identity challenged FEELS like... (not pleasant!)

During the 20th century millions of young women were convinced by movies, magazines and books that they were 'oppressed by men', even though it was clear that IRL it was men who did all the dirty and dangerous work, were sent off to wars, were expected to provide for women and even sacrifice themselves for women. At no point in history has it ever been preferable to actually trade places with men (of equal social status), and yet this identity as 'oppressed by men' swept across the western world and soon created a profitable industry (feminism) which is still worth billions of dollars annually each year.

Identifying as 'a feminist' (oppressed by men) is still affirmed to this day in schools, colleges, the workplace and throughout most corporations and institutions (up to and including the UN). Challenging someone's feminist identity generally gets you labelled a woman-phobe (misogynist) and often gets you fired, deplatformed and socially ostracised. Most people keep their heads down for this reason.

Those who adopt a feminist identity are often middle class, privileged, naive, insulated young women who reinforce their identities among their peers with endless youtube videos where they discuss how oppressed they are, from the confines of their pastel pink bedrooms full of expensive clothes, soft furnishings and decorating lighting.

Others identify as feminists for more cynical reasons, and deliberately use their identity (oppressed by men) to gain access to male spaces, promotions at work, special scholarships, extra welfare etc etc as well as using their feminist identity to justify parading down the street in a sexually provocative manner ('slut walks') or calling in bomb threats to men's rights conferences or just spitting in the faces of men. This sort of behaviour is (apparently) immune to criticism, because a feminist identity is inherently a victim identity, which means critics can be labelled woman-phobes (misogynists). Such is the power of a feminist identity, it is no surprise it is adopted by so many social deviants, predators, grifters and 'players of the system'.

While most women who adopt a feminist identity desist by the time they reach their 30's, and go back to a natural hair colour and normal clothing, many are simply too invested in it, and maintain the identity for their entire lives, with many of them seeking refuge in academia, politics and education - where they encourage the next generation to adopt a feminist identity too.

Another example happened more recently. In 2020 the internet and social media convinced millions of people around the world that they were 'covid positive' or even 'asymptomatic' and that their bodies had been invaded by tiny monsters which were trying to kill them.

These people adopted this bizarre and rather extreme identity despite the fact that over 200 contagion studies conducted over the last century have failed to demonstrate contagion of colds and flus, despite smearing healthy volunteers with the snot and lung fluid of sick patients (amongst other things).

In addition to this, when scientists have performed control experiments which replicate the standard virology protocols to 'prove' the existence of a virus (cell culture infection and imaging), they have been able to provide those proofs even WITHOUT adding a 'virus sample' from a sick person - which proves the particles often labelled 'viruses' are in fact the just 'cellular debris', the natural results of stressing cell cultures, and are not the cause of anything (similar to how brick dust is not the cause of building collapses).

So called 'tests' for a 'covid positive identity' (PCR) also yield 'positive' results (AKA 'case numbers') when fruit, goats, birds and tap water are tested. Even the inventor of PCR said it should never be used as a diagnostic tool, because that's not what it was designed to be!

And so despite virology being provable pseudoscience and contagion theory being falsified over 200 times, millions of people still adopted a 'covid positive' or 'covid asymptomatic' identity, and started to reinforce that identity amongst themselves by staying physically distanced, not leaving their homes except for essential supplies, and wearing a special mouth binder (which became a kind of emotional crutch).

They were also convinced to embark on a (highly profitable) path of medicalisation involving multiple injections of experimental drugs, which they took without a single thought to the short, medium or long term health implications for them or their families (or indeed wider society). This medicalisation of a 'covid identity' has already killed and injured millions around the world and caused a significant drop in birth rates. Many predict mass fertility in 20 years time among the generation born to vaxxed mothers, by which time artificial wombs will have become a thing (just a coincidence I'm sure).

Despite the lack of science behind a 'covid identity' and the horrendous effects of medicalisation, to challenge either will still get you attacked, ridiculed as a 'denier' and socially ostracised from 'polite society'.

I do not say all this to mock, but to inspire a sense of wonder (and indeed horror) at the immense POWER of social media, the television, propaganda and 'group think' to radically alter people's beliefs, identity and behaviour - often over the course of just a few weeks. We are all vulnerable to this and it seems that intelligence and (conventional) education might even make people a bit more vulnerable.

Until we come to terms with how easy it is for us ALL to be influenced in this way, we won't be able to progress as a civilisation, or keep our children safe.

Personally, I am sick of the TERF wars, the gender wars and the covid/ vaccine wars. I say let's all come together and fight a friendly war on our own collective stupidity instead :)

As I read this, I thought, “Did someone publish my journal?”

Our experience echoes this completely. I wanted to wrap my arms around the author and ask, “Can we be friends?” I feel like I’m in the Twlight Zone, living a life where up is down and I’ve had to fast-track a new career in mental health counseling for my otherwise brilliant, yet socially awkward son.

I wanted to know where they are now. How didn’t last three years go? What did you say that helped? What should I say now that will help my son? Where’s the handbook for compassionate yet firm guidance?

I hope they are recovering from the nightmare.

I totally agree.

We were ignorant, honestly speaking, about gender dysphoria more than 7 years ago that when our daughter came out to us during that time, I was still confused.

Besides all of these social media platforms, I blame her counselor the most whom we trusted to help her with her anxiety. Now I realize she started all these madness by affirming (hate this verb). It’s devastating and mind blowing AND stressful to think that my beautiful daughter whom I gave birth to, was a happy child

and a smart one is now ‘embedded’ in this cult and social contagion. So we pray and we keep her occupied; also, we don’t call her these stupid pronouns (not grammatically correct anyway) that she asks instead, we call her by her middle name which she prefers or sweetie pie. We are doing our very best to help her desist without verbally telling her.

May God bless us all and may God save our children.

I don’t often comment on these threads as I tend to be very flippant and to some , inappropriate

But how I wish the internet would just bugger off , these problems have always been around but treated appropriately , but yay internet ,yay trans

It’s very much amusing ( not really ) that there is no debate , trans is it , that’s all , I honestly fear for the future of humanity

Can no one see that the vast majority of ‘trans’ are young women who are scared of puberty ( weren’t we all ) or agp men who are getting their rocks off and getting away with it cos ‘trans ‘

There is another explanation, other than fear of puberty for girls and AGP for boys who experience so-called gender dysphoria. Several decades of prospective studies done in Canada in the second half of the 20th century by Dr. Kenneth Zucker, revealed that once gender-confused kids go through puberty they figure it out by themselves, and most of the time they turn out to be lesbian or gay. Only a tiny number of the tail end of the data did not resolve their gender dysphoria and sought transition services. Masculine girls and feminine boys have always been garden-variety members of the gay community. That's still true, although less than in the past due to the influence of the internet and activist teachers.

Back when this article was written, a burgeoning gay identity, autism, or some form of childhood sexual abuse, were the three main drivers of trans-identification, especially for girls. But like I said, times have changed because of the ubiquity of trans ideology in every sphere of life.

I too wish the internet would bugger off, but there's a ton of money to be made by doling out cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers to brainwashed children untethered to reality.

So I'm a woman if I say I am. Just ignore the penis I haven't gotten around to removing yet. And don't gate-keep me, because only I know what my sacred gender identity really is. It may change tomorrow, but whatever it is on any given day, it's your job to affirm me or get lost.

I sincerely appreciate the author’s wish of uniting with the LG community, feminists, as well as the authentically transgender community in order to take a stand against this thing that has taken on a life of its own. It seems to be a rare opportunity for these groups of individuals to join with the religious right, to increase our numbers and be heard.

This is a good one to repeat. I think the change will be very slow and then very sudden. We all have three filters on reality: "Is this propaganda?", "Is this betrayal?", and "Is this an outrage?". In this case, it's all three, in rapid sequence. As soon as we filter this movement according to the 10 commandments, all will be well again. God Bless

It is absolutely crushing to read this post from 2021, and realize that nothing has changed yet. Medical studies that have results not supporting the current ideology are being suppressed. Conferences reject panel discussions with colleagues who have turned the corner. Science is still being swept under the carpet out of fear of being cancelled. How did this thing become such a runaway train wreck?

That's accounted for by a notion from the polymath Nicholas Taleb. He says that it takes 2-3% to set the tone and account for the direction of a group. He uses lemonade as his example. All lemonade is kosher. Not because Jews drink a lot of lemonade, but because non-Jews don't care and Jews (5%) only drink kosher.

In the case of trannie insanity, 2% care, and the rest do not want to be called "transphobe" or get fired for "transphobia".

I just pulled out a bottle of apple juice from Hy-Vee, my local full-service grocery. I live in SD, and there are very few Jews in SD. Hy-Vee is found in IA, WI, MN, and many other upper-midwest states. This is not a big location for Jews.

The apple juice is Kosher.

I have issue with the term “trusted doctors.” I’ve long since stopped viewing doctors with any more respect than I afford timeshare salesmen.

Regarding the suicide myth, the largest high quality study I’ve found shows that actual suicides among trans-identified are about 1/3 of 1%. Tragic, but far from the “Live son or dead daughter” line that the previously mentioned timeshare salesmen trumpet. Other studies show that the post-transition suicide rate is much higher, likely because the vulnerable kids finally realize the adults were lying and that happiness did not follow.

And finally, some interesting news. For those following the controversy around SJSU having a biological male on their women’s’ VB team, members of the team itself are finally standing up:

I love the observation that kids are not self-diagnosing, but are actually being given a diagnoses by Dr. Google. And then " ... by requiring doctors to agree with a crowdsourced internet opinion, it stamps a seal of approval — a false authority — on a non-medical opinion rendered by an unknown party. "

This is such a well written article that I wish everyone currently sitting outside of the trans debate would read. It explains so very well how all kids are susceptible to being failed by the medical system.

A good piece to post again as it is timeless, sadly. The author said, "My son uttered the word “trans”, and the therapist abandoned all common sense." Yes indeed, common sense has been abandoned by many!

And, "our doctors do not know how to deal with us and our kids, and they’re scared to even try. They don’t feel free to conduct true differential diagnoses, to give frank and honest assessments and advice. They have bowed to the opinions of the internet mob and the activists."

How did the bully, mob get so far?! It is time to get some courage everyone! Stop the harm now!

The frontline, who fight against this medical scandal, need reinforcement. Find a way to reinforce someone or an organization that works hard to stop the harm. Everyone can help in some way, even anonymously if necessary.

Thank you for the repost of this essay. It is a good one!

It helps to feel less alone. People I know would sing a saner tune if their daughter was cherishing a chemically induced beard in place of amputated breasts along with a permanent deep voice , or a son whose own poisons pills enabled him to grow "breasts" while he clings to his pathetic charade in awful stereotyped "female" clothes. It's hard to subdue jealousy of parents, who have not had their child stolen. To sidestep more isolation piled onto grief, I also suppress resentment that other parents are not screaming to protect everyone's children preyed on by ignorant, virtue signaling, indifferent, and opportunistic ghouls.

The screenshot from Reddit at the beginning of the article is describing autogynephilia. I know, as I went through similar confusion as an adolescent boy, but during the late 1990s. I searched online and found Blanchard's research, which described what I felt.

I just got on with life, knowing that I had this odd sexuality, and that I wasn't a "woman trapped inside a man's body" (autogynephilia can make you feel like this, which for some can cause an identity disorder).

The difference today, is that adolescent boys with autogynephilia are now being told that what they are feeling means they are some sort of woman. The rate of autogynephilia hasn't really changed, but gender identity ideology is encouraging it to tip into a delusion.

I was hoping that the UK's Cass Review would finally put a stop to gender identity ideology, however it didn't, and omitted autogynephilia for no good reason. My active complaint for those interested is here: https://since2010.substack.com/p/complaint-to-the-nhs-regarding-the-936

The cohort that Blanchard described as having autogynephilia (AGP) is very different in many respects from the current cohort of gender questioning boys, so I wouldn't conclude that they are AGP. There are a lot of things to unpack before making that conclusion. But what is missing is the curiosity to research this current cohort to understand why they are gender questioning (AGP or otherwise)

I'm glad you found the answer to your issue, but yours is one possibility which shouldn't be collapsed with that of others.

The description of the cohorts is exactly the same, "Ray Blanchard remarked to me that he saw a seemingly close relation between autogynephilia and computer nerdiness".

The only thing that has changed, is that autogynephilia has been caricatured, to the point where counselors and parents are understandably reluctant to consider it as applying to their sons/clients:

https://since2010.substack.com/p/part-7-rogd-rapid-onset-gender-dysphoria

It's autogynephilia: there is no new cohort, no "boys with a female gender identity", no "ROGD boys". Sorry that is uncomfortable to some.

A problem with trans ideology is that it disregards everyone's life-history. If one questions their gender irregardless of anything that has happened to them or what prompted them to think that, then they are trans and there is only one solution. What you are saying is equally rigidly categorical: all gender questioning boys are AGP full stop. You don't care to know of anything about the specifics of the particular person. This hardly seems evidence based. And if anyone is curious enough to say this needs to be further studied - especially given the unprecedented current exponential surge in gender questioning boys - you are quick to label them a prude. Why are you scared of further study? Why are you not more open minded? Why do you think all gender questioning boys in the world are just like you? I'll leave you the last word.

"the rapid-onset gender dysphoria (ROGD) hypotheses which, briefly stated, are that psychosocial factors (such as trauma, mental health conditions, maladaptive coping mechanisms, internalized homophobia, and social influence) can cause or contribute to the development of gender dysphoria in some individuals" (Littman, 2021)

You are saying they "are now being told that what they are feeling means they are some sort of woman." and believing it. So It seem you agree with Littman (2021).

It is also true that psychologists report that some young people on the spectrum are trying to avoid sexuality entirely, both male and female. And people like Az Hakeem who was the only gender dysphoria psychiatrist in the NHS for about a decade saw only a few AGP.

Everyone is using a different definition, too.

If it was a useful label for you that is great.
