The cohort that Blanchard described as having autogynephilia (AGP) is very different in many respects from the current cohort of gender questioning boys, so I wouldn't conclude that they are AGP. There are a lot of things to unpack before making that conclusion. But what is missing is the curiosity to research this current cohort to understand why they are gender questioning (AGP or otherwise)

I'm glad you found the answer to your issue, but yours is one possibility which shouldn't be collapsed with that of others.

The description of the cohorts is exactly the same, "Ray Blanchard remarked to me that he saw a seemingly close relation between autogynephilia and computer nerdiness".

The only thing that has changed, is that autogynephilia has been caricatured, to the point where counselors and parents are understandably reluctant to consider it as applying to their sons/clients:

It's autogynephilia: there is no new cohort, no "boys with a female gender identity", no "ROGD boys". Sorry that is uncomfortable to some.

A problem with trans ideology is that it disregards everyone's life-history. If one questions their gender irregardless of anything that has happened to them or what prompted them to think that, then they are trans and there is only one solution. What you are saying is equally rigidly categorical: all gender questioning boys are AGP full stop. You don't care to know of anything about the specifics of the particular person. This hardly seems evidence based. And if anyone is curious enough to say this needs to be further studied - especially given the unprecedented current exponential surge in gender questioning boys - you are quick to label them a prude. Why are you scared of further study? Why are you not more open minded? Why do you think all gender questioning boys in the world are just like you? I'll leave you the last word.

"the rapid-onset gender dysphoria (ROGD) hypotheses which, briefly stated, are that psychosocial factors (such as trauma, mental health conditions, maladaptive coping mechanisms, internalized homophobia, and social influence) can cause or contribute to the development of gender dysphoria in some individuals" (Littman, 2021)

You are saying they "are now being told that what they are feeling means they are some sort of woman." and believing it. So It seem you agree with Littman (2021).

It is also true that psychologists report that some young people on the spectrum are trying to avoid sexuality entirely, both male and female. And people like Az Hakeem who was the only gender dysphoria psychiatrist in the NHS for about a decade saw only a few AGP.

Everyone is using a different definition, too.

If it was a useful label for you that is great.
