I am not an expert. I agree that a scientific study is two groups, one receiving hormones and one not. Is it ethical to run such a study on children. But parents do have to consider a) whether they believe people can change sex. b) whether they want to run the risk of the child under going irreversible changes. c) whether the child can fully understand what they are getting into. d) do parents really think that an idea in a child’s head, needs a medical treatment rather than a psychological one. What evidence there is, tends to suggest that hormones do not allieviate gender dysphoria.
