Wow. Your writing is so strong, as are you. Your anger is justified. It is time for the silent majority to rise against this. Silence = death. We have let these young people down as a society. My heart breaks for what you’ve endured.
Another excellent article. All of your pieces are full of truth and I really appreciate your voice. I am grateful for your writing and I thank God that you found your way out of the lies. Keep going!
Excellent article but I'm calling BS on the mad cow article. It's from Liberty journal, a Christian source and I can't find *anything* about this with an initial search apart from this article. It sounds pretty suspish. Now, they've fed cows lots of hormones that have done some pretty weird things to them, except I don't know about transgendered mad cows. 'Mad Cow Disease" is a neurological disroder which AFAIK has no connection to hormones, although I could be wrong, However, cross-sex hormones? Need better cite for this one.
Oh, and one other thought. I just did an interview yesterday with a woman who was sexually abused as a child. She details elements that went into her experience, such as adult support of the abuse; the very deliberate grooming, etc. You might find parts of her experience parallel yours. She's gone on to deal with her issues and to create an amazing life helping others. This piece won't publish for a month or so, but her name is Joelle Casteix if you want to look for her story when it is available. Know that you are not alone and you have a terrific life to look forward to.
Great piece! Thank you for sharing your anger (and hope). That mad cow article was something else. I love Helena and glad they quoted her. I have followed her for 4 years (Pique Resilience Project in the beginning). Check out Kintsugi, the Japanese art of making beauty out of mending broken pottery with gold. Gorgeous, just like you.
Excellent, truthful and informative! I hope you can publish these in a book. I wish you all the best as you live your life purposefully like the woman with the scarlet letter.
I have printed out these essays and I am keeping them for the day when my daughters wake up from this nightmare.
These inspiring stories give much hope. I figure that my daughters will need some glimmer of hope, that there is life after transition. That one can piece back the life so broken and beat up. It may not be perfect, but it can still be something. Let them be voices issuing stern warnings for the next generation.
“The large (silent) majority and most of the world just don't buy it.”
I hadn’t believed this until recently, when I read the comments to Pamela Paul’s NYT Opinion (opinions that read more like facts) piece. The comments were overwhelmingly in support of her. As in, they just don’t buy it.
Thank you. You write beautifully. Happy Valentine’s! <3
Never ever, for even once! Blamed the children who are swept into this by adults, medical 'professionals' who should guide to the shore, not the rocks. Some young persons make mistakes with alcohol or drugs and do not live through those choices. For you my wishes best life as you move forward.
Thank you for your fidelity to others, strangers you might never know. I would never wish for myself nor others the kinds of very unnecessary, and sometimes malicious, suffering that we've endured. I do feel that the real, spiritual, transformation comes as such experiences offer us a calling. A calling that heals us and offers an outstretched hand to those who need it.
You are awesome. And smart. And your writings are thoughtful and thought provoking. We are hopeful that after 8 years (and thankfully no medical interventions so far) our smart, funny daughter who has been caught up in this TransCult may be on the verge of desisting...we're holding our breath and hoping with all we have. She was finally diagnosed as autistic, something I had suspected for years. But the trans community bombards youth who feel lonely and different and uncomfortable with their 'theories' and ready-made answer to happiness, confidence and a new great life via life-long medical procedures and drugs and a ticket into their club. You are not alone. And rest assured that most of us think that desisters such as yourself are not stupid or gulliable and did not bring anything upon yourselves. You are brave to confront this and to speak up and I applaud you and others....hopefully my daughter included. I wish you well. I wish you healing and I wish you a happy and more care-free life.
I so enjoy your essays; your writing is captivating and the way you express yourself is very effective. Thank you for sharing. You wrote "On top, I'm not just angry, I'm broken - by a wicked cult whose doctrine blinds your mind, dismantles your body and fragments your soul to pieces. On top of ravaging your family and ruining your future." I have never read a more pertinent and truthful statement! I am so sorry that you had to experience this travesty, but I am grateful that you were able to break free. You have so much wisdom to share with the rest of the world - do not stop writing, please. Your opinion matters! Wishing you the very best in life.

I totally understand and I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. My thoughts are with you.

You have a powerful voice and an eloquence that never fails to go straight to the truth. Please keep writing. And thank you.
