Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am grateful for the Lord’s faithfulness and work in your life. My heart aches, even after a lot of healing, and I cry in understanding a little of what you’ve walked through. Our family is completely estranged from our 17 year old trans identifying daughter, who has excommunicated us for not affirming her. She is living with family, in an attempt to protect her from running away. It’s been almost a year and a half since she left, and a year before that that things had gotten really bad. We fought for the relationship, fought for boundaries to protect her, and she rejected it all. Your story is a little balm, not of promises for the future, but of knowing that God is faithful, and being reminded that there are others like us who love our children deeply and have given everything to try to rescue them. Thank you again. And I will continue to pray for you and your daughter. In Christ is our hope.

It is sad to hear that you feel your voice, as a religious person, is not seen by some as valid or important as the voices of secular parents going through the same thing. I am glad that PITT makes a space for all parents. I can see you are a beautiful, thoughtful, and loving person. I can see you are a wonderful parent. I can also see that your faith has helped you through such a challenging process, and helped you grow in wisdom and love. Love to you and your family.
