I also noticed that PP has erased the word "woman" from their website. Every issue is directed at "you," who may have periods, be pregnant, and so on. You may be a a person with a uterus or a person with a penis, but there is no male or female. How bizarre.
Yes, they gave my daughter testosterone after one on line visit, just from the fact she was 18 , at the time. She was given an on line instruction video. She told me later, “ They told me it shouldn t hurt, so I injected once , it hurt , so I injected 2 more times , before I could inject , without it hurting. “ she didn t drive at the time. She rode her bicycle to the pharmacy to pick it up, as I refused to participate. She is young for her age, on the autism spectrum!
Planned Parenthood, from its inception and as an entity (not talking about every person who ever walked through their doors or even every person who ever worked with them), was always about eliminating "the undesirables". According to Sanger that included black people, gay people, anyone with a physical abnormalilty, and those struggling with mental illness, developmental delays or neurodivergence (though not called that back then).
Planned Parenthood went the route of peddling their services under the guise of "helping" the very people she wanted weeded out of the gene pool. They have succeeded in drastically reducing these populations through abortion on demand, and now mass sterilization — always presented as "healthcare", "compassion" and "autonomy" (bypassing the evil gatekeepers). But they never provide full disclosures and they actually fight to keep people from learning the true and full picture.
Ultimately, they are fulfilling Margaret Sanger's old dream. *Getting people to get rid of themselves*. It's horribly clever and abjectly horrifying. I would not at all be surprised if they jumped on the MAID bandwagon next. 💔
Planned Parenthood saw the handwriting on the wall early on and realized their profits were going to be severely impacted as various states moved to ban abortion-on-demand. To fill that cash-flow gap, they jumped on the drug wagon for transgenders. PP has gone from the largest provider of abortions to the second largest provider of "gender-affirming" hormone drugs. They have corrupted the meaning of "reproductive health care," convinced desperate, confused, vulnerable, ill-informed women to abort their babies causing truly irreparable harm to babies in the womb and many of the women as well. They are using the same model with desperate, confused, vulnerable, ill-informed teens and young adults causing irreparable harm to them. The parallels are clear for those who are willing to see. The snake remains the snake.
So many storied institutions of the 20th century liberal left have foundered on the shoals of gender ideology and the trans movement: beyond PP, there's also the ACLU, now the SPLC too. Formerly liberal institutions have gone totalitarian woke and explicitly anti-feminist with their embrace of boys in girls' sports and men in dresses. The left ran out of people to liberate, so they're bent on liberating a manufactured minority with mental illnesses.
I said to a friend several years ago that the left (in the U.S., probably through most of the Anglosphere) had run out of ideas. This is what happens when organizations/institutions built for the 20th Century won and can't get their heads around the major battle of the first half of 21st century: big tech & its influence over our lives. It's a difficult problem to get your head around! Lots of considerations that involve national security, the preservation of western values, the influence of hot & cold running porn in our pockets. I get it why they prefer to fight the long-dead boogeymen of the 20th Century.
I'm sincerely hoping that genderwoo is what puts PP out of business forever. The landscape for abortion has completely changed since 1973: women not only have credit cards and cars to move to other states if they like, they have internet access and medication abortions too.
To quote Homer J. Simpson: Big tech: "the cause of, and solution to, most of life's problems."
In Abigail Shrier's groundbreaking exposé on the transgender medicalization of girls, "Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters" (copyright 2020), Shrier describes the complicity of Planned Parenthood (PP). Among other things, PP worked with the ACLU and the trans-propaganda publishing company, GLSEN, to disseminate pro-trans books to elementary school students as well as pro-trans manuals for teachers. Lastly, by 2020, PP was actively involved in disbursing testosterone to girls behind their parents' backs, with no therapy, referral, or informed consent required.
Distributing cross sex hormones as "gender-affirming care" (to children!) is helping people see that Planned Parenthood was always a corrupt organization with an agenda.
I used to live close to PP and would walk by their facility daily. I am so embarrassed of my former self who made a point of waving and smiling at PP volunteers and looking away from protesters just outside the gate. Back then I thought the volunteers were providing important services to vulnerable populations and the protesters were some fringe religious freaks. What an ignorant, arrogant fool I was.
While I am glad that you finally see "Planned Parenthood" for what they really are, I am sad that the murder of babies was not enough to turn you off to them years ago. They have never supported women or girls.
I get that people will never agree on when human life begins, but I don't see a zygote or embryo as a human baby. A fertilized egg becomes a baby, but it's a process, and doesn't happen instantly. Just as an acorn isn't a tree, a fertilized egg isn't a person. I don't take the issue of abortion lightly, however. Ideally, it should be legal, but rare.
I have changed my will, removing Planned Parenthood from my estate planning. It only do they have these policies, as you described in your article, but multiple people LIED to me, when I expressed my concerns. By the way, I am a family therapist with decades of practice.

Well said. The more letters like this they receive, the more likely they are to reconsider their policies.
