Thank you. I love satire and have used it myself. There is a lot of power in ridiculing something which presents itself as too powerful to be questioned. If you just argue back, you are still on their turf so to speak. If you begin to ridicule them, it can make them look less invulnerable.

This is great. I suggest adding links to the research which will take the reader to pertinent, real life information about the realities of medically transitioning? Other than that, a big ol' neon "SATIRE" sign for folks who have trouble identifying it may help.

Brilliant. It is my understanding, though, that unicornification is a treatment for those who were born in the wrong (human) body and identify as "magical", an innate, fluid, and unfalsifiable trait that is also in the DSM-6 to ensure that they can get the very necessary treatment to modify their otherwise healthy bodies covered by insurance.

I can see both sides of the argument, but do feel there is a role for satire. It is fantastic way of illuminating the ridiculous and tragic nature of certain situations.

The literary device of looking back from a future time is also effective; like "The Power of the Story", also published on the PITT substack.

One of the hallmarks of gender ideologists is their complete lack of ability to laugh at themselves, or to examine their insane, harmful belief system through a critical lens. Parents can point this out by using satire and humour themselves.

Of course it is not really funny at all, but dark humour is one way in which parents trying to cope with the train wreck that gender ideology is making of their families actually manage to survive.

Kudos to the author of this piece - and solidarity with you!

The article is also quite compassionate, in fact. It points out that many (perhaps most) of those trying to trans kids do in fact mean well, amazing though it may seem. They are caught up in the psychic epidemic, just like the kids. Lisa Marchiano explains the phenomenon brilliantly here;

Unfortunately the article you quote looks like nonsense, it is entirely fictitious and seems to be maliciously intending to make people who question the notion of ‘gender’, and potentially quote this mush, look like idiots.

I can’t find Oceania University Press and no search results present themselves for the alleged authors of the study. Being that is 2022 and the article was allegedly published in 2022 but was shared in the 2024 issue of Turban Times. One of the therapists who belongs to the fictitious organisation SPAT allegedly says “between 2022 and 2023, 7 of them contacted me to express regret, and 4 of them attempted suicide” it’s 2022, so these stats haven’t been gather Ed yet. There is no SPENDOP, no Donal Parson and no limit to the amount of synthetic hormone available

This is quite obvious satire. 😂 Woww.

It's meant to look like nonsense. You seem to be taking it seriously. Satire aims at making something look ridiculous, whether it's an individual or a campaign. We need more of it. Stand-up comedians do it, and people laugh.

Right, that is what makes it clear this is satire. And, it draws a picture as well as Johnathan Swift did in his satirical essays.

Still, if someone does not actually fact check, or fails to notice the dates and shares this it makes GC people, TERFS, look like idiots. Some well intentioned people will make this mistake through their naivety

Expand full comment

Many well intentioned people are taken in by the Gender Identity Cult through their naivety. Think of all the pseudo science published as fact about "gender" which people accept out of gullibility or through over trust of "experts".

I think this should be shared widely. It will inevitably fall into the hands of some folks who think and any thinking person after a short time would recognize it as satire. It is very hard to combat/repress humor.

I love embracing TERF: Tired of Explaining Reality to Fools :)

I’m happy terfing

I face battles over my beliefs one by one, some with people who are directly affected by trans issues, from my perspective individuals possibly reposting this misinformation is counter productive but I do get your point.

There will be GI true believers with stoppers in their ears no matter what they hear. or read - calling all non-believers bigots or whatever. I don't think anyone can be reasoned out of religion/cults. So, the target audience for this satire article would be the public at large. I see this one as being more about turning the tide of public opinion.

And, I think the secret to good humor like Dave Chappelle's - and good satire like this - is that they contain truth. It is very hard to put that sort of thing down or erase it.

Well done. That's an awesome skill you have, the ability to see the future. I'm jealous!

But I'm a tad skeptical about your numbers. For instance, "Name Withheld" claims: "I gender-affirmed 17 teenage patients (12 girls, 5 boys) between 2016 and 2021, and by 2022, 14 of them had medically transitioned..." That sounds low. Consider that between 2009 and 2017, referrals to the U.K. Tavistock gender clinic rose from 96 a year to 2016 a year. In 2015 to 2016 alone, referrals jumped from 697 to 1419. So I'm assuming that "Name Withheld" low-balled the size of her client load, in order to assuage her own guilt. Her actual number was probably larger by a factor of at least 100.

The Tavistock stats, at least, is not satire:

Let's hope that the tide turns sooner than later...

I’m sooooo daft!! it’s because I am living everyday in a state of confusion about how we , as a society have come to this unbelievable situation with our kids that nothing seems impossible to

me !! I think I need a mental vacation from the madness - I’m going back to bed lol

I get it Lesley - some of the things that actually ARE happening are just as ridiculous as attaching unicorn horns to heads. Like "gender nullification" surgery, and a British person having surgeries to look Korean because that is how they identify. We are living in a twilight zone, and it is hard to tell reality from fantasy.

Yes - or reality from nightmare.

And none of it sounds too far fetched to us - there are even people in the LGBTQIAD+++ alphabet who identify as Furries and some get operations to look more like an animal. Multiple things soon give this one away as satire - including the wonderful acronyms.

It needs to go back to LGB.

I hear you. I think we all need that vacation :)

But, it's OK. If this article got around maybe there are a number of people who would share your initial reaction and then "get it" shortly afterwards.

there is something not quite right about this article - I have searched snd searched and can find no evidence of this plastic surgery thing - just evidence of people taking photos of them selves with rubber unicorn o. their foreheads or talk of a sexual practice mimicking a horn- If this information is not truly happening and it’s promoted it will help destroy any validity we have in trying to reverse the ROGF phenomenon.

So great to start my day with a laugh! An as Linoak says, take a break for the misery. I’m going to share it with my daughter’s therapist. Luckily she thinks like we do and will also get a laugh out of it.

Have a great day everyone, between the moments of angst and frustration - enjoy moments like this essay can provide.

Thank you for a welcome break from the misery. Each morning I read yet another tragic story from a parent who in one way or another always mirrors my own painful experience. It’s both tragic and reassuring that I’m not alone in this. I hope that there will be an end to this soon — I just had a clinician tell me all about a study that shows that most kids grow out of this (who knew LOL) — and that those who harmed our children will suffer some crisis of consciousness. Hard to believe in the latter, but let’s at least get to the former. Solidarity and peace to you all.

THIS is brilliant. Thank you. We can scream out the facts, no one listens. But hopefully they will pay attention to this.

Except that the article is nonsense look at the dates check the authors don’t make the mistake of quoting things you have not checked for veracity it will make you look stupid

Right, we know this isn't a true story. It's called satire. It's a creative way of addressing the topic. Creativity is good.

YES! Satire and parody -- and now, speculative fiction -- are VERY powerful tools to accompany the facts we all know and use. We need to use EVERY tool at our disposal to shed light on this medical scandal.
