I am so grateful for all of the detransitioners who are opening up their hearts to us wounded parents. We are here for you in any capacity you need us. I appreciate PITT for giving us a place to share our stories. Thankful for you!
Yes, we parents thank these brave individuals for telling their stories and often under very difficult and hostile circumstances. In the early months after my 13 year old daughter's announcement, when I felt the most lost and confused, it was personal stories being told so well by these brave young people
that gave me the most hope. Also, a special thank you to Benjamin Boyce for posting numerous thoughtful interviews of detransitioners that have helped me so much in the last several months.
Thankful. Young people who detransition and share their experience contribute to the change we need. I hope - for their sake - that they also pursue their dreams and passions and that this experience doesnt define them.
I saved this to read on Thanksgiving morning, now here I am, weeping ... What a lovely piece and what a great idea to write it. You hit upon one of the most important things detransitioners are accomplishing, and that is that the are emboldening us parents to hold the line.
I will never stop being grateful for the detransitioners. They are the bravest of the brave. Wise beyond their years and have suffered more than they should. Those of us who are attempting to guide our children through this mess and intact need your stories. I’d like to parade you all in front of her but just being able to tell your stories means so much. Thank you for all you have given.
So beautifully expressed! I feel exactly the same way about all those remarkable young people, who, despite all they have to deal with themselves, have so generously shared their stories
Blessings to all the detransitioners for your forthrightness and bravery! You are making a difference. I ask God to bless you with healing and hope in Jesus' name, amen.
The desperation to reach out to these brave souls is sometimes unavoidable. These are our babies.
Please understand the immense grief and panic we experience and don't hold it against us. When we look and listen to you, we see our own children. It is hard to find the words to express the gratefulness of your bravery in speaking out. Massive love to all of you.💗💪
Thank you detransitioners! I think a lot of parents are operating out of a deeply instinctual place… After all, we are mammals programmed to protect our young from harm. The urge is like a faucet that simply cannot be turned off. I think the secret, and the only way we are getting through this is by accessing deep wellsprings of compassion. Compassion for ourselves as parents, compassion for our children and compassion for detransitioners who are the trailblazers here.

Yes, always good to know we are not alone. It is a lonely fight. Thank you all!

There’s that word again...hope. Sometimes I think that’s all we have left. I wrote a little about that in my last posting. HOPE!
