These schools should be sued for not using a child’s legal name. It is called a legal name for a reason.
I believe that any medical or social service referrals must go through the parents! Can we get gender dysphoria (which only some of these kids have) moved back into a psychiatric illness. So that we can discuss this as a pathology whose underlying causes should be addressed, not affirmed?
Wow. We didn’t deal with this until after my son graduated from college so I’m not totally sure when the trans stuff started. This is so sad on so many levels. Regardless of the heartache we all experience with the trans cult, we all want our kids to grow into functioning adults who can survive in the world. This makes me so scared for the future as a society.

Literally what happened to me. Teachers and social workers got my daughter accommodation behind our back. We were clueless. And in our case she accepted and cut contact with us. That was three years ago. Her dad (my ex husband) had a stroke and a brain haemorrhage after she cut contact. She was notified of this. She did not give a damn. She never called him.
She is the abuser. She ghosted her whole family for three years. She terrorised us with her no contact.
We are not the abusers. We just don’t want them mutilated.
So deeply terrifying on so many levels. Not just the trans issue, but the power granted to the state to nix the parents' ability to raise their child with their values. Will the state call an orthodox religious home abusive? For raising the child as a capitalist? For wanting to delay vaccines until the child is older?
It is the power granted to the state in this story that should frighten all of us.
This is a shocking story. The powers-that-be don't want kids like your son to grow up to be whole human beings who take responsibility for themselves and have full, rewarding lives. They want him to remain a ward of the state, unmoored from family and community. He's being used as an example of how open minded and accepting of "trans people" the government and educational system can be. It's a crime against humanity.
My husband and I were talked down to often by the administration of the private school my son attended. We were scolded to find a way to get along with our new "daughter". The head of upper school said our son was smart so some day he wont need our money! Like that is all we were good for to our child. I have often thought we should have moved him to a public school (we didn't because he threatened suicide. The game changer). If he were in a public school at least we would be insulted for free.

You were abused. Many of us were abused by high school employees.

I wonder how the parents and son are doing now? Four years seems like enough time for growth, but many of us know that it will take more years.

I too wonder how this family is doing today.
Once they are affirmed in high school it often does not go well. "Social Transition" is like cult indoctrination.
