Dear Ms. L. and Ms. J: I requested a meeting with Ms J. several weeks ago but I think instead I will just ask that you read my email today regarding our son, T. He has been wanting to identify as transgender for some time and we understand that he is now referred to as Tess and she/her in some of his classes. We were anticipating this and think we understand the rationale for teachers and staff complying with kids’ wishes. We think it ostensibly comes from wanting to be kind and of course, so they can just get on with teaching our kids, so I thank you for that.
Sad story, but you admitted that you knowingly and voluntarily put your son into this crazy liberal school. You need to rethink your liberal values, they have not served you or your son well. Every time you vote for the Democrats THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE VOTING FOR--PURE INSANITY.
We live in a liberal area and private schools are affected too. This should not be a political football. Creationism should not be taught in school nor should the idea you can be born in the wrong body. People are easily influenced. I only mentioned our political leanings because I wanted to take it off the table with the school staff.
But it IS a political football--you need to wake up. The Democratic party all the way up to Biden has bought into this 100% with the full force of the federal government, the media, most public schools and universities. You mentioned creationism but that can't be taught in public schools because it's illegal. Transgenderism is the religion of the left. They're NEVER going back to "normal" liberalism. Those days are over.
You need to take your son out of this school. Move to the country somewhere. Take his phone and computer access. Take him away from his toxic friends and teachers. Homeschool him. Spend time with him. Teach him to work with horses. Go for hikes. Go fishing. Plant a garden. Other parents have done this with success--read Abigail Shrier's book. Yes this is difficult , expensive and will completely change your life but you will save your son, his life is literally on the line. You must do this immediately--time is of the essence. If my son was on the same path as your son I would spend every last dime I had to save him.
So homeschool! You are going to have your son sterilized and mutilated if you allow this to continue. I am very sorry this is happening and it shouldn’t happen anywhere, but you now know what’s going on and it is your responsibility if you do not take the necessary steps needed to stop it.
No amount of money or lifestyle is worth losing your child over.
I want to add, if someone has thr option to homesechool, it is making more sense to me now. Thank you. Its a huge burden for a parent, and isolates the child from a large group of peers, and diverse perspectives from teachers. So I'm a huge fan of public schools. However, if it means a child getting drawn into a biology-hating cult and led to destroy their body, I understand what you mean. Thank you.
Not everyone can afford to homeschool. Its not like every child is being raised in a two-parent household, where the mother can work to support them all while the father is a stay-at-home dad, homeschooling the child.
There are plenty of single moms making minimum wage who can't homeschool.
And no school, urban or rural, public or private, is immune to this. Most schools of all kinds have been captured by the mob. If they haven't caved yet, they will in short order.
Just saying, homeschooling is not at all viable for everyone. We need to be speaking up to the schools, or in any arena we find ourselves in, in life, and that's not easy.
In fact, writing this is making me think, maybe we should each pick a venue that we're NOT involved with, since we might be too vulnerable at our own workplace, school, or community group.
So, for example, since I'm not a parent, I could safely lobby our school districts.
Or if you're not working or living in the homeless system of care, you could safely advocate there for single-sex shelters, restrooms, and not requiring people in the shelter system to use wrong-sex pronouns.
In other words, we each help put some other sector of the community, to build overrall awareness and safety, community-wide, and help someone else who can't speak freely or risk their job, shelter bed, or school harassment and brainwashing.
Polite, kind, explanatory letter. Well done. They need to have their awareness raised, through reason and information, as you provided.
I hope for the day when parents don't have to explain this to schools, because no one should have to. A simple, "Please call my child by his given name, and his biologically correct pronouns. He is male." should be respected and complied with by teachers.
Indeed, they should be asking you about this before doing something as drastic and outrageous as referring to your son as female without your knowing.
My best wishes for you and your son. And his school.
Thanks to all of you for your kind comments. I did get a response both from the principal and the counselor. Here is the reply from the principal:
Thank you very much for your email and your thoughtful collaboration with the school. We will share your email with T's teachers, and we look forward to continuing to partner with you on T's behalf throughout the rest of high school. We appreciate the proactive communication about the surgery in September too. Wishing you all the best on the next steps with T; please continue to stay in touch.
My husband and I met with the counselor who was very warm. She is clearly walking a tightrope because she agreed with us but says she is an ally. We brought up the comparison to anorexia and told her why we think it’s an apt comparison.
I am hoping that keeping him busy this summer and more involved with music will give him more balance but we shall see. It’s the very definition of insanity that so many of our kids buy into this and that so many otherwise smart adults do too.
Thanks for sharing! This is probably as good as you could expect. It also shows once again that we should never assume how people will react and should continue sharing the information with them. Best of luck to you and your family!
This is such a calm and rational letter. As a parent, I would be furious with that school.
Interestingly you mentioned the autism that your son suffers from. The Very few young people that I know who consider themselves “ binary” and are taken in by the gender ideology are also either on the autism spectrum or mentally disturbed in other ways. There are enough of them , though still a tiny minority , to explain why this gender cult has captured them.
What is infuriating is that the schools, government agencies, and the general public accept this dangerous cult in the guise of being “ kind”!
I feel very sorry for any parent who has to undergo the emotional roller coaster of their children’s very real problems. Puberty for normal children is tough. Now with the gender cult luring these kids to its depths it is so much harder on them and particularly on the parents. My sympathy goes out to you.
all humans are flawed . all scientists are humans. they generally get results that are pleasing to the people who give them the grants to to pay them to be "scientist ". look at the horrendous abuses and false science of COVID . you cannot trust any scientist who's work is not open to criticism and review.
best of luck to you but your trust in scientists is misplaced .
yes . that is why everything they proport needs to be closely examined . I am convinced that Americans now worship "experts" and "Scientists" as gods. pure idolatry. It never enters their head that the may have an agenda .
How do you suggest they fund their work? The times of rich upper class gentlemen who funded their research with their family money ended more than 100 years ago. There is tons of good science going on in the world, let's not put all the science down. ( I am not referring to gender crap but to real science in non-gender related areas)
What's the real science? The kind that can be questioned or the kind that gets one labeled a denier, bigot, conspiracy theorist, anti-science or just plain dumb etc?
So far, the science that gets one labeled because it is above questioning is:
1) transcult gender blender,
2)alarmism related to climate change,
3)the wisdom of investing so much in renewable energy. don't even try to say fossil fuels aren't organic and are renewable. That'll get you laughed out of the room but that's where all the evidence is. ,
4) EVs are the way of the future and they'll become more cost efficient because someone will invent a better battery and Rare Earth Minerals will stop being rare.
5) that mRNA vaccinations work...at all, much less any other vaccine,
6) cutting out fat and red meat is more healthy than cutting out whole grains, carbs, seed oils. Sugar is really, really bad and Vitamin C as asorbic acid in pills doesn't really work.
7) Alzheimer could be a venereal disease and misfolded proteins has nothing to do with that dreadful disease
8) Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and other mental illnesses may in part be caused by marijuana combined with a genetic predisposition,
9) the Planet is facing an overpopulation problem and underpopulation isn' a problem at all.
10) religion is a bane on humanity.
And my favorite:
It doesn't matter how fat someone is because it's possible to be healthy and fat.
The actual scientific evidence for the contrary on all these things is pretty much as close to certain as science can get. To be specific, half of it is could be wrong but no one knows what half. Yet, the acceptable science, that doesn't get someone labeled, can't be questioned.
You said "The times of rich upper class gentlemen who funded their research with their family money ended more than 100 years ago." yeah, because now all the rich people with money donate to politicians and activist groups. They barely even donate to real charities anymore. It's not that the very wealthy who could move science forward, and more to the point, their money, doesn't exist. It's they have no interest in promoting science for the sake of knowing.
I don't know that science was ever truly free from bias from trends and fashions. There's enough pseudo science in the 20th century to know that it's not immune to that. It's in hyperdrive in the 21st century. How do we distinguish between real science and fake science because not one of us can know everything. I look at the money, the credentials, the track record and most especially, whoever has nothing to gain but something to lose by being the odd one out.
A "disgraced" climate scientist like John Coleman, who lost his reputation, friends and stopped being the toast of the mainstream media will always be far more of a truth teller in my opinion than a distraught kid turned snarky teenager who got a faux PhD in theology for spreading climate change alarmism.
Honestly, it's just what Aristotle said in the Ethics: First, ask the many. Then, ask the wise. Nothing has changed. It's just that those who want to be thought of as wise, added professional boards, credentials and resumes but they're still part of the many.
When you read the persuasive tactics & statements often made by pedophiles there, sadly, is commonality with the questions & tactics used when questioning young children about their gender/sexual identification.
Here’s a creepy YouTube clip of what our kids are subject to
Please excuse my blunt and direct response and please do not take offense as I do not mean to offend...I'm just hurting for this boy and all the children stuck in this ideological war. The pain and frustration manifests as direct and blunt words because I do not think we have time to spare. If you disagree, just let this roll off your back like water off a duck.
I'd pull him from the school. These people (staff and peers) are not his friends and trying to get fellow liberals/progressives to meet you at logic and reason will fail as they only repeat what they are told and do not have principals but agendas and goals. Often teachers and higher-ups feel like they know more than parents and know better than parents because of their college degrees. You will be seen as the enemy.
As far as believing in science goes, science is a method and most "science" outcomes these days are corrupted by corporate, multinational interests; as the saying goes, he who pays the piper gets to pick the tune. The science in 2023 is agenda driven, not driven by the desire for objective truth and reality. Thus "believing in science" is the new buzz phrase because it requires a leap of faith. I would not put my faith in these people.
May God bless your family with the wisdom to best protect your child from what these people have in mind for him and his future. Keep fighting the good fight, mom and dad.
Yes, science is far from perfect. My next letter for the fall will be sure to say something about this being Creationism on the Left. I wish I could pull him from school and take him to another country where there is more sanity on this topic but it’s not possible at the moment.
Dear Cathy - when your son's therapist said she is an ally - she means she will say yes to everything he asks her for including helping him to get puberty blockers and Estrogen, from other "allies" who are physicians, endocrinologists, etc. - most likely without your knowledge or permission - you need to find out if the laws in your state allow "allies" to give your child medical treatments without your knowledge or consent. Our legal system has been punishing psychologists, psychiatrists and other members of the mental health industry for saying NO and telling a chlld he or she is the gender which matches the sex he or she was born as. You need to talk to your son and find out what she has been saying to him. You might just need to be with him when he gets therapy or counseling from her or you need to find a different person to do her job. Have you talked to a lawyer about making a legal document to inform everyone that they will use his birth name or T, and male pronouns when they talk to him, if they try to have conversations with him about sexuality or gender they must get your permission first or they will be sued. I would definitely talk to a lawyer.

It’s great that you have expressed your intentions in writing. Now you have proof you have made your child’s school faculty aware. The teachers work for parents. Don’t put up with this. It’s wrong.
Why is your son still in school?! Pull him out! I’m sorry, if you think these groomer maniacs are just going to meet you halfway, you are delusional.
Step up and give your son what he needs.
