If your child was using drugs in your home, what would you do? If your child started hearing voices, what would you do? If your child was cutting or burning themselves, what would you do? If they felt like playing a game of chicken with an oncoming train, how would you react? If they started experiencing anxieties and insecurities, how would you respond?
If a State or Federal program hid a child from the parents, even after Child Protective Services had investigated and found the parents to be safe and loving, how would you feel? If a Youth Center locked the parents out of their facility, with their child inside, what would you think?
Should minors be allowed to get tattoos and why did you answer as you did? What should the age requirement be to purchase alcohol, marijuana, or tobacco? Should there be one at all? Why do you feel this way? Should kids, preteens, and teenagers be able to communicate online with whomever they want with no supervision or safeguards in place? If a stranger invited an underage child to come sleep on their couch, would this be ok?
Is it appropriate for an adult to question a mother’s parenting and opinions and then announce out loud how incorrect or misinformed the mother is in-front of her rebellious child?
Is it OK for a school to withhold information from a caring legal guardian on where their child is sleeping each night? Is it OK for other parents to lie to a mother about, not only seeing their missing kid, but driving them to other hide-out locations?
Should kids be allowed to post social media videos advertising self-harm? How about a crises youth shelter allowing your child to place this other self-harming kid on their crisis safety plan?
Are we teaching kids how to be brave and face uncomfortable situations? Or are we teaching and enabling them how to run away and avoid situations? Shouldn’t we be teaching our kids how to build life skills?
Should we be pushing medications and medicalization that not only ruin endocrine systems, but also alter minds and personalities before the prefrontal cortex is fully developed? Is this really healthcare and life saving?
Does it actually cause trauma and harm to not give a child what they want when they want it? Is anybody investigating the trauma and harm this is causing the parents?
It feels like the people who are pushing these agendas are turning our children against not only themselves, but their own families and creating lifelong customers of the biggest industries in the nation.
Our children have been brainwashed to become fodder for profit. Big Pharma is their mother and god now.
You ask good questions, thought provoking questions. The problem is that no one will answer them. Until their own house is on fire, people are complacent to be complicit with these crimes against humanity.
I used to look at people much differently than I do now.
So many truths in this post, but one part really struck home:
"Are we teaching kids how to be brave and face uncomfortable situations? Or are we teaching and enabling them how to run away and avoid situations?"
Sadly, we are teaching kids to embrace escapism, and then enabling that on numerous levels. From 'safe spaces' to cancel culture, kids are being imprinted that emotional comfort and preferences are foremost, and that they DESERVE to be shielded from that which causes any modicum of distress, discomfort, or dislike.
Many once-lauded industries (medicine & academia, for starters) are complicit in herding kids down the cattle-chute of a 'me-centered' life and worldview -- always to the child's detriment.
Like Sue said in her comments, kids are now commoditized as 'fodder for profit'. Hopefully more parents and community members are waking up and taking action. Thank you for being a thought-leader in this movement.
