The thing is that gender can certainly be changed; sex cannot, no matter how much the body is modified to make it look like the opposite sex. We need to teach children and young people that it's fine to play with gender. Wear whatever clothes you like, play with the toys you like, pursue the career path you prefer. But we also need to teach them and parents that body modification won't solve their problems AND is incredibly dangerous and irreversible. It should be illegal to have any type of gender related medical intervention before age 25, and then ONLY under the care of a qualified mental health professional that is treating ALL of the individual's issues. We need to advocate for legislation on this front in EVERY state!
