I do because I was young and naive and I believed everything that was written on it, so the spirit of doom took over me and I didn't want to marry or have children or do anything at all because we all would died by the year 2000 for the lack of food. Of course that didn't happen as many others predictions by the American experts of some reputation. But my point is not only they were wrong, this Ehrlich guy is still called to do conferences in "prestigious universities" and nobody had called him in his mistakes and still people listened to what he wants to say. Worst of all, he never did a MEA CULPA, never admitted how wrong he was and if somebody dare to ask him about that he comes up with some vague explanation about markers. These so called experts don't care at all about the weight of their words and how they can ruined lives because that is what they are doing with their "in the air of nothing" expertise. They have to be made accountable and the punishment has to be severe and they will start to measure their words, words that change lives, in this case for the worst, sadly that is the only way. Their actions have consequences and we must look for accountability, they cannot hide behind protocols or organizations, at the end of the day they are the ones who had the will to say NO, and to follow or not all this non-sense. If a doctor has not the power to do that after they were in medical school all those years we have another problem.
