It doesn't stop with the birth certificate. It moves into destroying the photos one by one, shredding all documents with the birth name, etc. particularly when the keeper of the truth dies, and often before. The act of changing the birth certificate did not include asking me, the mom, or the mom that you left the comment for. There was no permission, no consent. This decision lacks basic courtesy and respect. It was done without consulting the parents named on that birth certificate. If no lines exist, no truth, no facts, what is left? Just a fictional narrative that changes as the gender identity flows. My daughter's identity has changed since she filed for the change and will probably continue to change.

A birth certificate is a statement of fact, issued by an official authority, attesting to the truthfulness of the facts. One cannot just change the facts later. It is not okay.

Since when did someone decide that a birth certificate could be changed at any time for any reason such as for wishes that change regularly? How many times can it be changed as the feelings flow from year to year? If historical fact was honored, there wouldn't be a mess, disrespect or a fictional narrative that only expresses feelings during the year of 2024. They weren't there for decades prior and might not be the same in the decades to come.

One bright spot in this was the employee at the RegistrarтАЩs office agreed with me.

IтАЩve gained courage from this group to finally speak up and humbly let people know what is happening. She was very compassionate and totally agreed.

IтАЩm thankful that I didnтАЩt see the other comments. ItтАЩs surreal to me that anyone can think it makes sense to change a legal, historical document. Especially one that involves other people.

Especially when so many are trying to trace their ancestors and searching for such historical documents now.

Will we allow changing of the date and place? Maybe choose a different set of parents to seek an inheritance? Erase felony records? Historical legal documents are created not based on really strong desires, but to record the facts.
