Great post, thank you. I am so excited for the whole series. I too have read the Walter Isaacson biography of Elon Musk and was saddened by what I read about his son. This scenario is all too common when parents respond differently to the trans announcement, with one questioning and trying to uphold biological reality while the other unquestioningly embraces the gender madness.

Thank you for being so brave and thank you for writing this excellent essay which hopefully reaches many confused parents to keep fighting against this created craziness...

Thank you for speaking out. I believe the most powerful voices in stopping this runaway train are the voices of those who have lived the experience and seek to get out. You have a better understanding of how you may have been influenced into this 'community' and how loving parents can help keep their children out of its tentacles. I spend a lot of time with youth, and I see how deeply they have been propagandized on this subject. I don't try to attack it head on, but I consciously work to build self confidence and community with these youngters in ways that don't involve gender politics. Throughout human history, young people have benefited by having life skills, multiple adults to trust, and a strong community around them. Cults are notorious for appealing to young people who feel lost and alone by offering belonging. Mentoring youth is something many of us can do to reduce the vulnerability of children in our commnities.

Well said!

Desistors and detransitioners cut through the pseudoscientific gobbledygook with 20:20 vision and clarity.

We must all keep calling out the dangerous lie that is responsible for a medical scandal to dwarf all historical medical scandals.

Never before, apart from in Aztec times, have adults, governments and social institutions enthusiastically sacrificed kids’ bodies and futures in service of a religious delusion.

This is a heartfelt and true message ! Your observations of this cult are well written and intelligent! The conclusion that this inhumane experiment must be outlawed is absolutely correct! We need more writers like you to fight this dangerous authoritarian ideology! We need legislators who recognize the danger and d who are willing to put their careers on line to fight this. Unfortunately, there are no liberals who will do this, so even if one disagrees with much of the conservatives, we need to support them ..since it’s only Conservatives who are on the right (sic) side of this issue.. I would put the abortion issue on hold for now and vote for anyone who is against the trans / queer agenda. It’s the most important issue now.

Thank you for writing and sharing this. I'm thinking of sharing it with one of my desisting clients.

The story about the young man whose parents were lesbians is a cautionary tale. We are told, over and over, that lesbian/gay couples make fine parents.

I have increasing doubts about this. The lesbian couple cannot make a child without a contribution from some male. When the child is male, he has no male role model. Such male children are raised in a distorted and inappropriate environment.

Objection!! You are blaming the parents for what is clearly a social contagion and political, big pharma fueled issue. I’m floored by the lack of critical thought behind this statement. Follow the science!

Thank you so much for writing this! In Ohio, we could use some letters in support of the Safe Act by December 4th. There are 6 major clinics tucked into Children's Hospitals. They are lying about not doing surgeries on kids. If anyone could please write to the committee in favor of the bill, we would greatly appreciate it. You can change your name if you need to.

Here is the bill: https://search-prod.lis.state.oh.us/solarapi/v1/general_assembly_135/bills/hb68/IN/00/hb68_00_IN?format=pdf

Here is the committee:

https://ohiosenate.gov/committees/government-oversight

We had several destransitioners who came to testify in addition to Corinna Cohn if you care to watch.

Testimony should be sent to the Chair, Kristina D. Roegner: https://ohiosenate.gov/members/kristina-d-roegner

Please work on it this weekend or just contact the committee to vote next week and protect Ohio children now. We had several doctors come forward as well. We have had Helena, Chloe, Alex, and now a new set of detransitioners including one from Ohio. In Cincinnati, the CCHC boast transitioning 4,000 since 2015, many from other states. In court case against parents who refused testosterone for their daughter, the clinic director, Conard, stated that they transition 100% of the kids in 2015. So as Kentucky and Indiana has outlawed this, they are fast tracking patients and surgeries. Cincinnati doubled down on therapists by passing a local gender identity conversion therapy ban.

If you would like to connect with parents, go to: www.CardinalSupportNetwork.com

Please help us.

Thanks!

The reason progressive people are so all in for transitioning transgender kids is because they see efforts to dissuade them from being allowed to express their "true" authentic selves as running parallel along the same lines as conversion therapy's homophobic attempts to change gay kids into straight kids, done by homophobes who think being gay is somehow repugnant and immoral to nature's, and often god's, sensibilities.

They truly believe kids feel they're trans the same way gay kids come to feel gay and straight people learn to discover they're straight! They're convinced these people aren't making a mistake in their self identity and that it's not a disorder, the same way we now recognize gay as not being a mental disorder the way we all once thought it was.

Once you understand their mentality you can come to accept it and realize you're never going to change the way those tyoes of people think. Instead you need to find ways to convince them that children can be wrong about the way they think and that they need to be given time to mature into adults before being allowed to make such an irredeemable decision towards their body, no different than we consider a rush to tattooing or harmful alcohol use among still developing minors today.

Our community is largely liberal. My experience with this community and things 'trans' is that most are kind and generous people who live their lives pretty much the same as conservatives 95% of the time. They differ on a few points that get amplified. A big part of what I see with the Trans situation is peer pressure. Those who would discourage their child's transition risk falling out of favor with the local community, and few are willing to be excluded. They've spent their adult lives being aligned with certain causes, tolerant of things they think they should tolerate, and expressing that with signs, flags, and other visible means. To be looked down upon in the community for dragging their feet or opposing something on the LGBTQ+ spectrum would be very difficult for the parents. They take the path of least resistance, knowing that at least they won't be alone. Those of us who are excluded from the majority liberal community have survived exclusion and most would probably embrace them, but they don't know that. We live in a time of competing narratives and alienation, which is part of the reason our youth are vulnerable to cults.

Conservatives behave that same way so as not to fall out of favor. Many in fact don't agree with the abortion or drug ban stances of their brethren in the church either, but fear the loss of community if they were to go against the grain of those leaders in it who decide for everyone else how it's to be.

I personally reject both cons and leftist progs equally because both use the same authoritariam tactics to make this world a better place from their own perspective. One uses the God of Heaven while the other uses the God of Government, to force people into an alignment with their own dictatorial moral code.

If parents want to aid in potentially destroying their immature, most often under diagnosed depressive kids lives, alongside the other leftists who encourage them, I only hope those kids who regret it will grow up with the guts to seek out their revenge on those who did it to them. Stupidity is not an excuse that these kids should listen to if they come for it either.

It's the human condition - going along to get along. I agree that people of all political stripes are prone to doing this. I just don't see many on the con side living in our community.

For the progressives, those who disagree largely submit still so as not to be exiled from the tribe.

For the cons, they reject trans more as a matter of disgust than fear.

A lot of the “thinking” by so-called “progressives” is just virtue signaling! “look how nice I am”! The progressives are now regressive!

Progressives are inherently greedy and this could be used effectively against them if Republican were simply willing enough to challenge them to pay more than their fair share tonadvance their agenda and go beyond their mere virtue signaling to hit them really hard in the pocketbook.

Tell them there should be a special separate tax for leftists that's higher than the normal rate of payment in order to fund their expensive policies and dare them to meet it or else admit that they're too greedy to give up their comfy lifestyle of eternal government paychecks.

To their face, demand a special tax for wealthy socialists who whine about having too much money already, but cringe and run from the light when told to pay even more to meet their imaginatory ideals.

Who is the writer? Will we know on the sixth episode? She writes well and in the kind of detail such an experience would leave on someone. The question is why so many people join forces to allow pre-teens to be swept up in a choice none of those involved should make. Maturation takes a long time and the brain seems to be at the end of that process, somewhere around 25. I await the first of many lawsuits against hospitals, clinics, therapists, schools, Drs and Nurses. Only significant financial punishment will change this insane activity.

Many people are joining forces to push the trans agenda. The medical and therapy side of the picture involves a lot of money, as does book publishing. That's part of the apparent groundswell. Many parents don't like where this is heading but for reasons of peer pressure and sheer confusion, they don't act. Cults are difficult to fight. I have a relative whose father took her out of a religious cult. It was traumatic and expensive. She has remained vulnerable to what most of us would consider odd choices in life. Unless the choice comes from within, it is difficult to get a child out of a cult situation. I think prevention is the key, through a combination of legal protections against medicalization of minors and educational reforms to protect against school indoctrination. The cybersphere is a whole other animal. Building strength and resilience in our children has to be major part of the picture.

The unfortunate part, is you had to go through this, to be the immutable voice you are today.

This reminds me of many passages in the bible, but Job's story echoes here.

I'm sure the hell you've been through, was consuming and I know you're not here for accolades, cheers or pats on the back. So I will simply say "Thank You" and you have my immense respect, for saddling up your righteous anger and riding back into the battle, to expose and annihilate the lies, scam and criminals - still capturing millions of children out there - drowning in the insanity.

Very well done!!

The idea that a parent would support gender fluid seems to support the ideology as a whole. As a 50 something Mom who grew up singing "William has a Doll" and "Free to be You and Me" This entire bullocks load of crap needs to just be abolished.. There is no right way to be a boy or girl - just be!
