I was surprised that you only gave links to conservative news sites. Surely this is a big enough story to make the news everywhere. But I plugged Fox Varian's name into the New York Times, and sure enough, there was nothing. Nor at ABC, nor at CNN. MSN did carry it, however, surprisingly.
This verdict is huge, love the Churchill reference too. The fact that jury didn't even need to weigh in on gender affirming care itself but just found the process lacking tells alot about how rushed these procedures are becoming. I watched something similar play out with a family friend where everything moved so fast there was barely time to think. The real test is whether this opens floodgates or if its an outlier tho.
With everything coming out about the elites and Epstein and what they got away with, I have little hope we will be able to stem the tide here. This has the same billionaire backing that did, and somehow they have people openly supporting it while knowing that. Apparently the health and safety of children isn't of any importance to either party.
You are not alone in that - but we still can hope our "forever changed" daughters (and sons) can live happy lives despite those changes. Never give up that hope.
I fear happiness is too much to expect. I pray for a life of purpose, honesty and good companions; to be a worthy contributor to society and a help to others.
In particular, people from WPATH testified against the surgeon and mental health person based on the WPATH Standards of Care ("Standards of Care"). So this doesn't set a precedent for going after anyone who follows the WPATH recommendations--but these recommendations are not reasonable at all! These were the 2012 recommendations but neither these nor the 2022 ones are good enough.
(Recall the 2022 ones were created by interfering with the systematic reviews of the evidence because WPATH didn't like what the evidence said (reported in the Economist and BMJ), removing age recommendations for all interventions except phalloplasty under US political pressure (NYT reported on the surgeries), putting the words "medically necessary" all over the place to get insurance coverage or win lawsuits (I can't remember which but it is documented in the Alabama lawsuit). )
This pitted the WPATH MD's who want to say they are "good" WPATH MDs against the MD's who aren't following WPATH and being less careful.
I don't think it sets a useful precedent for lawsuits where WPATH was followed but utterly the wrong decisions were made. Saying "I followed WPATH" is not the same as saying "I was practicing ethical medicine."
I don't think we can say the dam is breaking yet. It's good news to be sure, but as long as freaks like Dr. Gallagher are removing enlarged clitorises from young women, as long as Democrats are still telling women they need to all use a single use bathroom so the boys can use the female one, as long as young people are still going on TikTok showing off their surgeries, we have a long way to go.
Thank you for addressing this very important milestone. I live in NYC, about 15 miles from where this case was settled - and there is virtually NO coverage of the story in mainstream media. This has to change.
Please read this and contact every news outlet you can to ask them WHY they’re not covering this story.
We need to create a sea change on trans ideology and this is the moment. The only way doctors and psychologists will stop doing harm is when they start fearing for their own livelihoods. They are self serving, they are monsters, and they are cowards. When threatened with financial ruin, their radical behaviors will shift.
Very important that the statute of limitations is extended across all states. There should be nothing to worry about if this is as successful as they claim it to be. Detrans rates are minuscule?? We’ll see.
Three years ago, I wrote here about moral panics and offered what comfort I could to parents suffering from their children's involvement in the Trans panic:
I believe that the current Trans panic, like all moral panics, will end.
I believe reality will return to our zeitgeist, and the amoral who are machinating this moral panic will be forced to find some other resource to exploit.
I believe that those who have rejected their families will return to them.
I believe the madness will subside.
But this Trans moral panic will leave an enormous legal mess to be repaired, and the crippled bodies of its young victims in its wake.
Reported it to the state of Ohio education authority and nothing happened. We need to have new laws in place that allow parents to sue beyond the current statute of limitations. The perps know there's only a 1 or 2 year window. Much of the damage persist once young people become adults and might need to seek financial compensation on their own to pay for continued medical bills. Often the light doesn't dawn (and affected young people don’t realize the full consequences) until the frontal lobe begins to mature and they have a traumatic “Aha!” moment and realize what happened to them and then feel violated and get angry and want to take back control over their bodies and life. But then it’s too late. The system protects the perpetrators and they keep doing it. I'm pretty sure they know this.
By the way, Im not hating on gay people or lesbians here. Also not cutting on people with non-mainstream spirituality. I don't care about that, only that it's just relevant in this particular case.
Am I the only one who thinks $2 million was a rather low figure? And does Fox Varian get it all, or is a portion going to her lawyers?
The NYTimes finally got around to weighing in:
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/03/health/gender-surgery-malpractice-varian.html
Though the article reads like it was written by a journalist at their "trans desk".

California is actually suing the Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego because it complied with the Federal Govt. and stopped it's "gender affirming care" clinic. There really is no honor among thieves, they are suing a hospital for stopping what they shouldn't have been doing in the first place. https://www.kcra.com/article/california-sues-rady-childrens-hospital-trump-administration-gender-affirming-care/70212248

Sadly, it’ll never be the end for my family, as our daughter is forever changed in so many ways.

Well put!
Did someone post Ben Ryan's Free Press coverage yet? He has detailed information.

Yes, we need to abolish WPATH. We need to make it criminal.
Good final quotation and I agree! It is the end of the beginning. I wish we were farther along.

This is great news on a sad circumstance. I hope many more, subject to this malpractice, get justice. May I post your piece elsewhere?
I especially like your closing statement.
Thanks for sharing & informing.
The darkness is very dark. Psychopathic scientists and Epstein created the contagion.
