All the villagers hear are the well tested lies the young person found online and adopted, believing them. And the lies pushed by activists who want medicalization for everyone, as far as I can discern. And they reward your kid, love bomb them, tell them they are special for this-- these kids don't realize they are already special as they are, already, in many cases, surrounded by love.
It's all so exciting to your child, who gets to wait until they hit 18 and then go get the drugs, fueled by online grooming, lies about whether drugs are needed and what they do and even biology, and the cheers of these adults who rarely see your kid and aren't paying attention.( Growing up! Being independent!) How could they pay attention...? They haven't been raising your complicated kid and have no idea what they are messing with, with their conspiratorial secrets, good intentions, and destructive ignorant interference. They aren't paying attention.
They need to get a clue and stop interfering until they do so.
