I agree 100%. Perfectly encapsulates this cynical nasty pernicious bullshit. I teach at a progressive university among the zealots and it is so disheartening how indoctrinated the students are. I’ve been taken to task for daring to say that it’s not true that women weren’t allowed to work prior to the Sexual Revolution, and that the reason women were denied credit cards is because they were supported by their husbands. They are being taught to read literature through a hateful lens and all manner of devil’s advocate can’t seem to impose a sense of romance on these poor souls. It’s heartbreaking.
