I'm assuming that I cannot use this link to report problems experienced by my adult son that occurred not long after beginning testosterone blockers and estradiol. This was several years ago. He was 19 at the time and had run away to a glitter family. He experienced suicide idealization (and 2 attempts), a nearly fatal pulmonary embolism, a 100 lb. weight gain, numerous GI system problems, and enough mental health issues to justify (in his mind) the inability to work or go to school. No matter: the state has just provided disability payments and Medicaid will cover the treatments. I tried to report this (especially the pulmonary embolism) to our state board of medicine but, of course, they could do nothing for me because the patient was an adult. You would think the prescribing endocrinologist would discontinue the estradiol but, of course he did not. They simply put him on blood thinners FOR LIFE. I only found this out after the fact. Despite all of this, my son has no intention of giving up his "affirming" medicine.
