Thank you for such an articulate manifesto and for giving us parents some hope.

We're traveling in New England right now. We stopped at a highway rest stop in Massachusetts

tonight, and on the exit door from the food court someone had stuck a sticker, and someone else has torn a big strip of that sticker back off again.

There was just enough to see that the original sticker said: "No Child Is Born In The Wrong Body."

But someone else didn't think that sticker should be there. Someone else thought it was important that children be told they've been born in the wrong body.

So I went back to the car, where my husband was waiting, and dug a ballpoint pen out of my purse. "One sec," I said. "Gotta fix something." Then I went back to the door and carefully rewrote the original lettering that had been torn off.

Now it's scruffy, but it once again says, "No Child Is Born In The Wrong Body."

And, because I wrote the lettering deeply into the torn paper-glue, it's now impossible to casually tear off.

(As an aside, it's amazing what people won't question, if you act like you know what you're doing. Numerous people passed me, going in and out, as I was carefully etching that lettering back in--I even thought one of the janitorial staff dumped a bucket behind me and was about to accost me--but nobody even paused.)

So that was my good deed for today.

Because NO child ever has or ever will be born in the wrong body.

Read Susan Stryker’s manifesto about “performing transgender rage”. There is certainly mental illness behind this movement.

Both of my 30+ yr old kids (one male, one female) have decided they are trans. I think that many recent trans people might be reacting to the increased emotional support that is showered on them rather than the transition, per se. My kids were horribly abused by their mother, both before and after the divorce, and were pressured not to tell about it. Their emotional vulnerability made them easy prey for the trans cult activists. They have blocked me from interfering with their indoctrination. It’s like watching a slow motion train wreck.

Great post. Building on your lead in lines, I have a problem when teachers and counselors encourage "critical thinking" about gender, leading my child to fall into the trap of believing she's a boy based on pseudoscientific claptrap dressed up as this generation's civil rights issue. Seriously, kids are being learning that the mere act of questioning turns them into sharp critical thinkers!

I fantasize about the day when these doctors who routinely break their Physician's Oath lose their licenses and their livelihoods. There is not one thing involved in "treating" (sic) gender dysphoric children that they can consent to: https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/first-do-no-harm And going even deeper, I believe that the entire concept of gender dysphoria is culturally imposed on children who behave in a manner that the adults around them find somehow "wrong": https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/lying-to-our-children-hey-all-parents

The article doesn't pull any punches in pointing out the facts. God created males and females, not trans people. We all go through babyhood, toddlerhood, childhood, pubescent teenagerhood ending in adulthood, a progressive fact of life that needs to be left alone. Skipping puberty with puberty blockers, hormones and surgery takes away the vital aspect of becoming an adult with a fully developed brain and sexual organs. Puberty is not easy nor is it supposed to be; it's a struggle of discovering who we are and what we want to become; mental angst needs emotional/mental therapy, not mutilation or dangerous drugs.

I don’t think we should allow adults to take hormones or get sexual reassignment surgery either. Unnecessary and dangerous medical procedures should not be allowed for anyone. If someone with anorexia decides they’re fat and want liposuction, doctors won’t do it, even for adults. Same with thinking you’re the wrong sex; you need mental health support not surgery.

I wholeheartedly agree with you.

However, to defeat this evil ideology, we need to slay one dragon' s head at a time.

Transitioning children needs to be banned nationwide before it dawns on society that what destroys kids does no better to grown-ups. That's step 2.

Step 3 is bankrupting all who promoted, abetted and performed those horror transitions through lawsuits, more lawsuits and a few more lawsuits.

As for "slaying one dragon's one head at a time": along with minors, also ban "transition" for anyone up to at least age 25, when the brain is more developed. Then ban "transition" for anyone at any age. It's always malpractive. Though too late for my son, who as a newly 19 year old was duped by this heanous mind virus enabled by our sick culture.

I hear you

I'm very sorry

I relate to your deep sense of injustice, your excruciating pain and your rage

Keep in mind that he is still and always will be your son

And there is still hope, regardless of the extent of the damage

And he can wake up from the insanity and still have a meaningful life, though radically different than what it could and should have been but still meaningful

I know a thing or 2 about it

As a parent, channel your righteous anger into action and protect your heart, cause from it, flows every thing that makes your life

If a grown adult wants to pursue loping off body parts as an elective cosmetic surgery procedure because they think it will make them feel better in their body, then I say OK.......BUT.....BUT...... it should NOT be covered by insurance. It should be an out of pocket expense only. EVERYONE who has health insurance pays in higher rates/premiums and copays/deductibles when costly cosmetic procedures are covered by insurance. I'd like to know how many who join the military do so because they can get this covered by insurance?...... and military benefits are sponsored by using tax payer $$$$!!!

Gender reassignment surgery and cross sex hormones will undoubtedly make the patient less healthy and on average it will reduce their lifespan. Doctors have a job to do: heal the sick. Making people sicker is unethical. If I went to a surgeon and asked for a leg off, they’d turn me down for that as well, although it wouldn’t kill me.

Exactly. You'll never get a physician to prescribe cigarettes for you.

My brother was brilliant but lacked common sense as an adult in the 50s. I struggles through puberty with an eating disorder and depression which forced me to be self-reliant and develop common sense; there was no help for eating disorders back then and depression or any mental problem was best kept hidden. Yet, I was taught that puberty was the rocky road to the adulthood I craved. I still had happy times before adult hood so it wasn't always doom and gloom. I went to school, worked part-time and slowly took on responsibility. I'm not sorry about what I went through; it made me the person I am today, stronger and more mature than I otherwise would have been. Children and teens need to be left alone to discover their true selves. Transitioning cheats them of the life they were meant to have.

I've been waiting for this second edition of a Desistor's Manifesto with baited breath. Your words "Kids go along with the garbage fed to them because they trust the adults in charge" burst with truth and common sense. Having been on both sides of the coin give your words so much more clout than the collected voices of concerned parents Thank you from the bottom of my heart, as I am sure many others on this platform will most heartedly agree.

Thank you so very much for speaking truth. I hope and pray that my grandchildren will listen.

Because of your courage, many will be helped. Prayers for you, asking God to bless you.

Excellent! Very powerful - thank you. I look forward to reading more of your writing. Congratulations for breaking free from the evil twin sisters - you have a story to tell, and the world needs to hear it. You have firsthand knowledge that can help make a difference in this dark evil cult that is raging - raise your voice! Tell your story! You are brave and smart and a heroin as far as I am concerned. Continue on oh mighty warrior - we are all behind you giving you our support, encouragement, and love. You give us all hope. Bravo!

This is some of the best writing I’ve ever read from an insider’s perspective, or frankly, from any gender critical perspective. The first installment in the series is equally superb. The brief comment in the first essay about Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s refusal to define the word “woman” because she’s not a biologist, by itself is worth the price of admission.

Once it’s completed, I encourage the author to release the entire series of essays free on online and in print, if feasible. Create a separate website for it and publicize it. Translate it into other languages if possible. Whatever it takes to disseminate it far and wide.

When your child has developed this intense hatred for their body and you recommend, “The only efficient and compassionate care for this terrible mental illness is through gender reconciliation oriented, long-term therapy., “ can you expand on this? Is this body dysmorphia therapy? I’m trying to find someone safe to help and it’s very hard. I’ve tried Therapy First and can’t find anyone for where we live.

In the first essay, I mentioned several websites such as:

- Biological Integrity

-BeyondTrans

-GETA ( Gender exploratory Therapists Association)

All 3, besides providing helpful resources can connect you to non mental illness affirming therapists who, as far as I know, have a therapeutic approach to gender dysphoria that is birth gender reconciliation based..

Worth contacting them.

I genuinely wish you the best outcome.

Hello MT. I'm so sorry you have this hateful problem to deal with. You are not crazy. You did not do anything to "deserve" this, (frightened people will suggest its your fault and they are wrong) You are doing the right thing by questioning. I wish I could tell you right where to go to get the help you need but this has been made hard on purpose. Can you get online advice from a therapist not in your area? In my state, WA- its not allowed by insurance to use anyone out of state. If that is your situation you may need to pay out-of-pocket for the right care. Once you have a good person (out of your area), then maybe they can lower their rate for you. Or not. I don't know. I don't have a child with this problem but my kids have had other problems and I think we both know that if you don't go the "unusual easy prescribed route" for care its gonna be difficult and expensive. This is something that has always been the case.

Maybe find a support group in your area. Go onto reliable websites for help finding a group and maybe a therapist. God bless you dear. You are doing the right thing. No matter what they say.

Best wishes for finding therapy for body dysmorphia. The self hatred is spiritual in nature, so doctors are not trained to help. I wonder if some are not aware of the existence of evil
